Question, Please help!!! I am thinking of getting two yorkshires that are not potty trained. They are both boys and they have been raised in a kennel. They are not fixed. The one can not be fixed cause he is alergic to anestetic. The older one is three years old, he is the one that is alergic. The other one is one year old. Do you think I would have a chance to get them trained? I have two yorkies now, Harley 6 mos old and Sophia 4 mos old. They are both potty trained. They have the run of the house and only have a very occasional accident. They even sleep with us and get up in the middle of the night and go to the puppy pads. Will that interfer with my puppies and their potty habits? Any input on this will be very helpful. I am to call this lady on monday. she gave me that long to make up my mind before she trys to find another home for them. Thank you so very much for your help in this matter. I think it would be quite a challenge to potty train them at this point. And they will interfere with the progress of potty training the ones you have already. Best of luck!!! |
In my opinion, it's not impossible, but depending on how much you know about their past, there is no guarantee. Based on one of my own experiences, I would need to go into it with my eyes wide open.... consider the worst scenario and how my other pups, family and household could handle that. If you can do it, that is awesome. If you can't it's understandable and best for all. ~hugs~ |
I think that it would take so hard work!:) |
It is doable - But consistency on your part would be important. I would definitely kennel train and/or do belly bands. Use lots of praise and rewards for their good behavior! |
