It seems sneaky but I know if she has nothing to hide this should be okay. But I was wondering if the office staff would offer this info to me. I don't think she knows this is the reason why I wanted to know where she treats her animals. I have worked for an animal hospital before but never had anyone call me for this kind of info..is it wrong? Is it like humans health records..off limits and private? I am spending alot of money on her pup, I need to make sure the parents really have no medical issues.. | I as a Breeder myself don't see a thing wrong with it...I tell ANYONE who adopts a puppy from me to call our Vet, they have my permission at the Vets to give out info...They do call me 1st tho to let me know who is calling....But this is at my request so anyone wanting to theive or ??? just to get records can't do it...Just have to cover U're self these days.
I also ask adoptive parents for their vets info too just to make sure they know them and that they will be taking my puppies to that vet (Some may fib to U and say they will take them to a vet to get shots then never do) and I request if they don't take the puppy to that vet that they let me know what vet our puppies will be going to.
I would call the breeder 1st and ask if U can call her vet and ask about her Yorkies, I see nothing wrong with it for U as the adoptive parents has to be protected also, if she makes a big fuss then I would have to wonder if she doesn't have something to hide. If the breeder says no ask her why, if she is a good breeder then she should be 100% open and 100% honest with U and have no problems in sharing any info with U. Just my OPO tho. Hope this will help U. :) Lee |
