Should I get him???????? I meet a local lady who is rehoming her 11 month old boy for a small fee. Hes UTD, not nuetered and only 90% potty trained. She really is torn up about rehoming but she getting stationed in Korea and doesnt want to put him through the 1 month quarentine. Hes a good pet quality pup, fitting in with the standards and seems very sweet. My problem is my husband doesnt want more dogs, he barely likes the ones we have, and my kids want a cat instead. I want ALL yorkies I see and could really end up with them taking over my home. Do I let my love of Yotkies get the best of me or run now? I need serious points of view here since Im considered the crazy dog lady by my friends and they are no help. |
Wow that is a hard call...you need to talk to the family and maybe tell them that this little guy is going to be so lonely leaving his old family and that you kinda fallen in love with him..explain all of this with the kids present.. then let them help you make your decision.. let you hubby know your happy but that you feel in your heart you want to add this little guy to your family... anne |
Awwww I would give it a go. He deserves a good mommy cuz its prolly gonna be hard on him to but with you having experience in Yorkies and all I think you would do PERFECT!!!! |
That's a hard one... Unfortunately, your a married woman with a family and you just cant make those type of choices w/o them being involved. It can bring lots of stress and drama into your household and in the end the pup will be the one to suffer the most... Maybe you can try helping the pup by finding someone you know that can offer him a home? Really hope everything works out :) Best of luck |
well, if you took him in, you could also get a cat-they don't require much work at all-and if it did, it's the kids cat! I'm sure that hubby wouldn't even notice another pup after awhile.:D |
I also think it should be a family decision..If your husband doesnt agree with a new puppy. It could make things a little difficult... |
Take the Yorkie! Take the Yorkie, forget about the cat! :) I have four cats and as much as I love them all, and would never part with them, they all shed! I joke that I belong to Costco for the good price on sticky lint rollers but it's true. I'm constantly cleaning cat hair off my furniture, clothes and floors. Only one of the cats is a true lovey dovey and the others only bother with us when they want. Get the Yorkie. :) |
I would love to say just get the yorkie, whats one more but w/that said one more is HUGE when know one else is on board w/the decision! The last thing you want to do is have tension w/hubby because you just did what you wanted to! (Believe me, I would want to take him in too) I think it really has to be a family agreement so in the long run know one throws it back in your face. Good luck w/this tough decision! |
Maybe you could foster him while finding him a new home for this lady? She's probably limited on time, right? You have the experience to really make sure that he ends up in the right home;) |
I've been there...recently I totally understand the spot you're in. I had no intentions of getting a Yorkie puppy, but my girlfriend got him w/out telling the landlord first. LOL:eek:She comes in all upset. My husband has been out of work since January, and financially it wasn't the best time. I have my 12 yr old mini daschund, three cats and 2 teens!!!! But I had a hysterectomy a year ago,and I was having baby fever,or withdrawl??? Anyway, I took in this puppy, and if you had asked my husband about it a week ago , he would have said NO WAY!!! Now...he comes home at lunch to lets him out, buys him toys and a new plush bed. :aimeeyorkTakes him outside when he's puttering in the garage. When you present it to the family, the negative response will be temporary....Good Luck!!! Let us know. :animal-pa |
I would get him. Like someone posted earlier, you could always foster him if your family is totally against it and find him a good home. Maybe they would all fall in love with him too and by that time you would get to keep him!!;) |
