Sal is going to be neutered on Thursday and I am not to sure I am doing the right thi I am worried that I maybe making a big mistake on getting him neutered. We have so many other dog in our neighborhood that have been fixed that they all look like big ballons. I am concern about weight gain with him. He is not suppose to be more than 10 pounds. We walk about 1.5 miles 5 times a week and my husband spent at least one hour a night playing fetch outside with him. I guess what I want to know is that will he gain a lot of weight after the surgery? |
I think as long as you keep up with his excercise he will be fine. The neutering age coincides with maturity so they can become less active as they move out of the puppy stage. If you maintain his activity and switch to a good adult food when the time is right he should be just fine. None of my dogs ever gained weight after they were neutered. My Baby gets neutered a week from today :( I am so nervous although I know he will be fine... |
Kash is getting neutered on Thursday too. i'm more nervous about the actual surgery than what's going to happen to him afterwards. i hope everything goes well with our babies! :) |
Mojo didn't gain weight after having this done. We did cut back on his treats and food, as we knew we needed to anyway:cool: We walk twice a day and he loves to play, inside and outside. So plenty of exercise....which is what we did prior to having it done too. |
Maxx.... My Maxx did not gain weight after he got fixed, he is just a luvvvvvv bug and he does not mark at all... very worthy to get them fixed.... i think junk food can make them overweight .... They will be whatever they will be with a good proper diet, no matter if fixed or not... Good luck !!!!! |
