Brutus' family tree
 

I was having some fun yesterday trying to find pictures of Brutus' family off of his pedigree and I found a few. I can't believe I don't have pictures of his mother or father though! I'll have to get them from the breeder.

Here's a picture of his both his grandfathers (ch. Durrer's Why stop now and ch. Elite to be or not to be).

His great parents (ch. Elite's Loving Touch and ch. Elite Too Too Much).

I also found a few of his great-great parents but I don't think I can fit it on this thread.

I'm going to make Brutus his own little photo album! :)

They're so pretty! What a lucky little guy Brutus is to have such great genes.

That is a great idea . By looking at the name on Brutus pedigree , I found out that he is related to Jade .

How cool! I bet a lot of our Yorkies are related!

It would be very interesting to hear about them .

2 of my girls are related to Brutus .

GORGEEEEEEOUS yorkies ! Wow ...you have a little champion on your hands don't you ? I can't wait to watch Brutus grow up and change - I love him as a puppy but he's going to be a stunner if he follows his family tree - how cool - do you see traits in him yet that you see in their pictures ?

Hi Villette! I kind of see a little of him in his great-great grandfather am. can. ch. Jofres Castle in the Sky. They have similar expressions.

I went through all my Yorkshire Terrier magazines and couldn't find anything for
you and almost gave up but I finally found one on the web ( not the greatest clear
picture
but you can tell what wonderful confirmation he has) I sent it by pp

Ok, I am very interested in the backgrounds of my babies but didn't know you could find things like this on the net. How did you get started? What's the first thing you typed in? Please, please, please see this and answer. Sylvia

I think that is so cool. I have all my dogs pedigree papers and the background names. But was wondering what you had to go to to look it up on the internet?

Hi, I was going to let Brutus's mom post the picture if she could take it
from there. I went about it so many different ways and since this dog
goes back quite aways I keep getting it's off-spring. So I typed in by
address ( far left on the tool bar)

picture of Elite's Loving Touch and a thumbnail came up

in the title it has to be Elite's not Elites

infodog.com has some beautiful pictures of dogs that may be in your
pedigrees since your dogs are young. You do not have to be a member
to use even though it says to sign in. On the home page to the left
there is an icon with the letterS WABR click there, the next page has
all breeds listed and click on Yorkshire Terrier. There are a list of
some young dogs that they want to show the world and then there
are others older that possibly might be in your pedigree. That same page
tells you if they have a picture of not. Hope this helps.
I sent an e-mail to American Kennel Clubs Customer Service and
gave them my dogs name and TN# to see where I could find a picture
of her being shown or getting her championship. I suppose through
a photographer hired for the shows if they keep them that long. No
luck getting a picture of my dog on the net - guess she wasn't famous

What I did was type in the dog's name ie, can. ch. Pastoral Johnny Handsome in google and follow the links. I couldn't find everyone on the pedigree but I did find quite a few. I think it's great to be able to see where our dog came from! Here's another link that has a lot of the same lines as Brutus. http://www.yorkshire-terrier.com/boys.htm

Carolyn did you get Brutus' fathers picture??? My instructions maybe were not
the best - let me know if you didn't. I found my Crystal's litter sister on one of
the sites!! Hunting these things down is sometimes difficult but I lucked out with
Elite's Loving Touch ; it came right up. Another thing once you find a dog
related to yours, you can take that kennel name ( let's say Durrer - type in
Durrer Yorkshire Terriers) and see if they have a website. Also the Yorkshire
Club of America has a list of member breeders with sites and you may see a
name you have on your pedigree. Go to that site and the breeders usually have
many pictures that go back a ways. Crystal and I are going to my daughters
today but I'll check in late tonight or tomorrow. Good Luck

Thanks for the tips Joan! I was on Durrer's website but you can't save their images. I don't blame them for that. Some of the names on the pedigree don't seem to have websites. I'll try YTCA. Have fun at your daughter's!
