Why Why do they roll themselves on dead bugs?!?! Gross....I don't understand. Don't they roll themselves on stuff that they want to smell like? Why would they want to smell like a dead bug? I feel like giving her a bath every time she does this. |
Because she knows you don't like bugs. |

Why would they want to smell like a dead bug? I dunno, maybe so they can sneak up on other bugs?:D LOL! All dogs do that, not only to dead bugs but anything they see dead and I have had Rusty do it to my hand when we are playing and he can't win, he will roll over and rub all over my hand. I heard dogs do that so they can smell big and bad to other dogs..like they had a fight with the bug and won? Go figure.........:yelrotflm |
Earthworms have been my boys' focus since we've had so much rain and the worms are coming up. They hide them in their mouths, bring them in, and then roll on them. I'm not too happy when this happens. |
OMG!!! i was wondering the same thing!!! |
my vet told me that he wants to get the scent of whatever he rolls in on himself. she said that it's like perfume to them. |
Milo will scent everything of himself. When we visit someone's house the first thing he does is rub himself all over their furniture. Hotel rooms it's the beds. Today it was a dead bird under the deck. Gross. |

Haha...probably:) She needs to stop though. It's disgusting. |
Thanks! I never thought about her putting her sent on the dead animal. I heard about them wanting to smell like whatever they roll on, but I still don't understand y she thinks a dead bug is perfume. Silly dog. |
I have always wondered this too...both mine do it too, with stinky bones/toys, dead worms, and blankets too... |
OH GOD!! This is funny. I hope Riley never does anything like this. The only dead things we have are dead pidgins on the sidewalk. |
