Does your dog think it can fly? I think there may be a similar thread out there somewhere (or a glitch in the Matrix), my apologies in advance if this is a type of double post... Yesterday I took Bernie into the bedroom because my girlfriend was cleaning the living floor and Bernie goes nuts when we use the broom and/or mop. Anyway, I place him on the bed and when he heard the broom's 'SWOOSH' sound by the room door he got a running start and jumped off the big King size bed -- waaaaaaay off the bed. My heart was in my throat and he let out a yelp when he landed on the hardwood floor. We checked him out and he seemed to be ok but it was a scare. I'm not sure if I should admire his courage or question his sanity - what's up with that? You'd think they'd realize how far they can or can't jump. |
aww i'm glad he is ok. Bailey does that too and is hurts when he uses my leg to push off on lol. |
I swear Nugget is part cat...yesterday...(he got nuetered 2 days ago...with his e-collar on) takes a running jump and leaps onto the bed (which is a good 3 1/2 feet off the ground) glad your baby is ok...I think they enjoy scaring us sometimes! |
You should get stairs for your bed. |
Alphy aka "alphator" is half kangaroo and half superman. Murphy aka "the murphinator" is all superman. I am so afraid they are going to hurt themselves. But it all happens so fast that I can't get there in time to help them down. |

Sam thinks she can fly. She gets to the end of something and just keeps walking. She also tries to jump out of your arms, off the back of the couch, and of course flying off the bed. |
Flying YorKIE HazelNut thought she could fly, dummy me, I bought her stairs so she could get up on my bed. Once up there, it was too much trouble to go down the stairs, it was a game to FLY off. Well, it finally happened, we were outside one night, on flat ground, and herd blood curlding wimpers. Called out the Vet, anyway, the Vet figured she had hut hersel in one of her flying jumps, and twisted wrong wihich finished it off. She ended up seperating her shoulder from her leg, sorta like a break. It's been two weeks now, whe's healing real well, limps just slightly. BUT, NO MORe on the bed, and I put the stairs in the basement. She is just to wild! |

No, but she thinks she can walk on 2 legs like her people. ;) What a very scary situation. I do second the suggestion of steps. These babies really just don't realize their size! |
when sophie jumps off of anything, she spreads her front feet out in front of her -- like she is trying to fly. :p |

Diggy does for sure......he is a flying squirrel/yorkie mix :) |
I was shocked when I first got Buddy and he flew from one piece of furniture to the next! I had no idea they were like cat's. The funny thing about his flying was kind of nerdy. He would start to jump off a piece of furniture then stretch his body out (like he was going to dive in a pool) then spring from him back legs and fly into the air before putting his front legs down to land. He looked like a girl when he did that! |
