My Pup was Almost stolen!
 

or so i thought...
Today i took Bindi out for a quick poopie break down the block(a grassy area with lakes on both sides. just fyi so u dont think i take her pooping in other ppls yards). I feel pretty safe in my neighborhood as its a gated community and in a good town but all of a sudden this white unmarked van turns the corner realllllly slows and drives slowly and stops RIGHT in front of me. I picked up my pup and ran the hell away like a crazy person. i looked back from my house and saw them unloading hedge clippers and such......one had already started cutting the hedges.... i felt foolish to say the least bc i know they saw me run away. and i was gonna start screaming to for my dad (mind you I am a grown woman in my mid 20s lol)

my Bindi was stunned to say the least.

I can just picture running like crazy. LOL Glad it was just the lawn people

You can't be to careful now a days. When we had just gotten Lilly, my son and I took her to Petsmart with us. He was holding her in the parking lot walking towards the store when a car with four men pulled up slowly. At first (Before I saw the men) I thought it was maybe someone just admiring Lilly, but then I saw they were all men in the car. I started to walk fast toward my son - at about the same time one started to get out of the car, I then started running not walking and all of a sudden he jumped back in and the car took off. I do not bring my dogs to Petsmart or any of the other petstores anymore. I really think that it's the perfect place for those looking to steal you dog. They know people that get a new pup almost always take them there. It's scary. Elaine

OMG i had a similar experience there too!! i was getting into my car and some guy just comes up and starts talking to me about my car and how great it is blah blah blah.... :confused: i mean i dont drive a very rare car so i was really nervous.and he was really really close. Bindi was already inside in her carrier. i just said sorry im in a rush and drove away and made sure i wasnt followed.

gosh! i know. YT is what has made me very aware of my surroundings when I am out with her. people tend to flock to her since shes so lil just a puppy when at stores and such. im always cautious and ready for flight lol *is a worry wart*

I know this is a serious subject but holy hell...I am dying laughing here just thinking of how a person must have looked and the story the lawn guys had to go home with...that is hilarious!

It's always better to be cautious...I'm glad it wasn't some scary person in a van. I'm always a little lerie of vans (no offense to anyone who owns a van) but they are always the cars that the crazy serial killers drive in the movies. So I don't blame you one bit for turning and running home. I would have done the same thing.

I'm always super cautious leaving my baby in the car, most of the time he comes with me but there is the occasion when it isn't appropriate for him to come with me.

I am VERY cautious of vans, especially those with no windows or with dark windows that you can't see through. These are the vehicles baddies use to abduct women. If a van is parked next to my car, I will walk back into the store and come out later or get in the car on the opposite side. No offense to people who drive vans - just being sensible and cautious. And if any man is standing around near or by my car, I'm back in the store in a flash and would certainly get help if I thought I needed it. I'm an older lady, small, and would have no chance at all against anyone who decided to do me harm. I don't have any problem with someone knowing I am suspicious of them or their actions. A strange looking guy followed me from the Kroger parking lot and into the store one time. I immediately found a male manager and told him. The manager kept an eye on the guy and said he had seen him before. The guy was mentally impaired and I sure didn't want anything to do with him. The guy saw me watching him and saw me talk to the manager and saw the manager stand there to watch him. The manager made it very obvious that he was watching him. The guy left and I never saw him again. The manager walked out of the store with me when I left and stood there until I was in my car and moving. Don't ignore a suspicious situation. Be alert and protect yourself. The baddies count on a woman being kind hearted and basically trusting. Don't be!!

LOLOL! That was so funny! It made me laugh out loud!! But, seriously, I would rather be cautious than not. One time my dad (who is 80!!!) got lost in a new subdivision. He saw a girl walking her dog, slowed down his car, and said "Excuse me..." Before he could say anything else, she took off running!! Thanks for my morning laugh!

That's hilarious.

I walk the boys down the side street and cars slow all the time and it makes me so nervous. What really ticks me off though is the smart ass kids. When it's dark sometimes the come up slow on ya and then scream, of course usually my back is turned and it makes me jump. One of these times I'm going to be picking up poo and fling it at them because they just startled me so bad. :rolleyes:
