Does anyone still have their post neuter medicine?? The vet gave us a painkiller for a feline..and of course they are not there, Oh!! and they charged me for a medium dog..lol..20-40 lbs..you'd need 4 of Maximsu to get to 20lbs...but anyways, I was just wondering if it is the same thing just diff. amount, could someone give me the name of their med so I can see if it's the same if anyone still has it? THANKS!!! |
I just looked up the medicine (the supposed pain killer) for Samus the feline that they gave my bf for Maximus the canine and it's a friggin vitamin :( http://www.pfizerah.com/product_over...=EN&species=FL |

$21.00....of which I now have to be late to work AGAIN tomm. so I can go to my "normal" vet and get real painkillers for my baby :( ...and pay another 20.00 or more |
Oh shoot - that's a BIG booboo - There are 24 hour Emergency Vet you could get advise from - tell them what happened with the medication - I don't KNOW if baby asprin is ok after surgery but you could talk to someone who may help with getting him through the night - that's such a mistake sending home the wrong medication - If I were you - I wouldn't be paying for either of them - their mistake. I hope he's not in too much pain but to me - I'd call the ER vet to see what else you can do for him....That's what I love about my vet - I have his cell phone number and he would come in after hours if I needed him. |
Yeah well...I just called the er vet and they told me that he should have enough painkillers in him to last the night and if I want to I should go by in the morning nd they will look at what they gave me and give me something different :( ** The vet I went to wasn't my normal vet..it was a vet in the city that does the laser neutering....I can in no way make it to the city AGAIN tiommorrow so therefore I will have to pay my normal vet for some medicine..which I really don't mind as much as the incompetence...was Maximus and Samus too similar...or was it the canine and feline??? |
That's good that you have something for him - I didn't know that ...I was thinking post surgery with nothing would be a long night for him but it sounds like you got the situation in control - I bet he feels lots better in the morning - lots of kisses to Maximus ! |
This day just doesn't feel like it ends...lol, and Maximus figured out a way to kind of eat around onesie so I had to put hie ecollar back on :(...he is noe sleeping on my lap...poor baby |
When my puppy was neutered about a month ago, he didn't get any kind of pain killers, nor did he need them. Why was your furbaby in so much pain? That wouldn't have made me very happy. Avery had a morning surgery and I picked him up about 1:00. By 3:00, you wouldn't have known he'd had surgery the way he was bouncing around and eating! I hope your furbaby feels better..... |
Hi Samantha! Glad to hear that Maximus is doing so well. If he is pretty much acting like himself, I wouldn't worry to much about pain meds. He may not even need them. When Annie got spayed our vet didn't even give us any, and the next day she was pretty much back to her usual antics and didn't even seem to be in any pain where she would have needed them. So maybe just play it by ear. Sounds by the look of it, he may not even need it tomorrow! :D |
We didnt get any pain meds either...Sammi was back to herself in 48 hours :) Please give Maximus kisses from me and licks from Sammi |
I was glad to have the pain meds for Buddha after his surgery but I paid almost $50 for it and he only had two I think. It was Rimadyl I think. |
Desi was fixed last Monday and the Vet said she would not need pain medication and she didn't. |
Tuffy was given a bottle of Rimadyl ($10) and I never gave him a single one. I was really worried that he'd be in pain but he never whimpered or seemed out of sorts so I just didn't want to mess with giving him pain meds he didn't need.. especially one like Rimadyl. Most boys are back to normal in no time so it's possible he won't even need an extra pain med. Hope he recovers soon. :) |
