Welcome to YT! It sounds like your baby is suffering from seperation anxiety. There are lots of ways to overcome this but I took the easy way out by getting a second dog! Not only were all of my problems 100% solved, but now I've got 2 darling babies to love and spoil rotten! Good luck with little Lexie! :D |
I agree with the post above that getting another yorkie is a great option. Bentley suffered from horrible separation anxiety (he used to block the door so I couldn't leave). When he was 6 months old we got a second yorkie and now things are much better. When I get home I can tell that they have been playing all day. It gives me great peace of mind to know that they are happy and entertained while I am gone. Another option is to send your pup to doggie daycare. Before we got our second yorkie we would send Bentley to daycare twice a week so he could interact with other dogs and not feel lonely. Good Luck! |
Bentley's mom: You have two males? do you have any problems (if I am correct on two males)? I have a (just turned) 7 month old male. I am looking for a second as a buddy. I prefer to get another male...although I'm keeping my eye out for a female too. I got Romeo at 4 months and had him neutered at 4 1/2 months and he does not mark (he still squats). Friday, I am looking at an 8 week old male. I'm a little concerned with an 8 week old and a 7 month old. Is this too much of an age gap? I was looking more towards an older puppy (because I am also leary about getting such a young puppy) but I'm not having any luck. Romeo is very gentle and laid back but I can see him being very jealous too. He is so much a mama's boy and he has horrible seperation anxiety. It breaks my heart to leave him in the mornings. He barks/cries and literally wraps all fours around me sometimes! |
