Meeting the breeder...
 
Now, let me explain. My breeder lives about 45 mins or so away from me, but for the summer, she was in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We corresponded for AGES on email, talking on the phone, etc. She talked for a very long time with my mom and even asked me several questions to make sure we were legit. She is a very good breeder and a nice lady. I just never got to meet her in person, because she shipped Rox to us.

Well, tonight is the big night for us: she's coming over to visit. She's bringing one of her bitches, a puppy that was around the same age as Rox that Rox played with as a baby, and maybe MAYBE MAYBEMAYBE even Rox's mama.

I am so excited that I may leave work a little early to go home and put her hair up and stuff. How great is this! :D :D :D

I don't know... I hope so! My mom is trying to get her chilled out and napping so that she has lots of energy to play tonight.

That is so exciting, it sounds really cool...are you defintely getting another one or just still looking?? I hope that Rox does well with a new little one...have fun!!

That is so exciting! I still talk with Zeus' breeder and when we got married, Zeus went to stay with her for the week. He was there with his mother, father and sister yorkie. It was so nice. I think it is great to keep in touch with your breeder.

To be 100% honest, I think my mom is *very* interested in having one for her own. Unfortunately, our breeder is in Ohio right now to sell her house and move somewhere else (Wisconsin or Minnesota or somewhere)... Which means another shipped pup. If we do end up getting one from her, we will definitely wait until she's 12 weeks before we ship her. (Roxy was only 8 weeks and definitely too young to ship... We thought it would be ok since we have bred Scotties and know the concerns with small dogs... Nope! We had to learn a LOT)

That would be nice if your mom got her own Yorkie. Then your baby would have another dog to play with! I agree with you, 12 weeks is much safer than 8 weeks. Good luck and keep me posted!! I hope your mom gets one!! :D
