Bailey is 7.9lbs at 6months Bailey just been the vets, they weighed him and he is 7.9lbs he is just over 6months old nearly 7 months  They said he wont get much bigger than that tho :D, i am shocked as he is not ova weight and to look at him he is SOOO small but i see some of ur posts sayin your yorkies at 3-6lbs at like 1yr old is that for mini yorkies? Is this about the right weight for him? I know i am always askin lots Questions and u might be thiking i know nothing lol but i just find this site so helpfull :) thanks |
Most dogs continue to grow till about 1 yr.. so I'm betting you'll have a 10 pounder.. TEA POT ;) But we have a lot of them here. More to cuddle with. |
He is a cutie Tasha, and you know you would not have him any other way :) :aimeeyork My Tink is growing fast, I can see it, so I think she is also going to be a good size.:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa It must be all this sea air down on the Isle of Wight (UK) doing it! |
Well, I'd be skeptical about him not growing any bigger. My Baxter was about 5 lbs at 6 mos., and today he is full grown at 12 lbs. My guess is that you'll have a teapot there. And trust me, they are gorgeous! |
Well I have a different story lol Mine never grew past 6 months  I have 2 from the same parents. I think its just up to every individual yorkie. All so different! I think thats what i find so amazing about yorkie SO unpredicatable and what a WONDERFUL breed!!!! Yorkies are like a box of chocolates Ya never know what ur gonna get!!! :) |

Well my little is Izzie is 5lbs and she is only 4 mon... So I don't know what size she is going to be... but I 'll love her anyway... :) |
Cozy stopped growing at 5-6 months of age. She was big from the start. She is ten pounds but still looks small. |
That's how we learn by asking questions. Looks like you have yourself a Teapot. Buddy was 71/2lbs at six months and continued to gain until he was around 1yr old. Today he is 15lbs and solid as can be. Wouldn't have him any other way. Just more to hug and love. |
awwww =] im not too sure how big he was at six months, but now he's a solid 12.2 pounds :D im almost positive that you'll have yourself a lil teapot :) but i see what your saying. when i look at Caden, he seems super tiny, but when i hear about these 3-4 pound yorkies im like ''Caden's a giant!!'' :p i love teapots ! |
:thumbup: to what everybody else said! Franklin is almost 7 months and about the same weight. I'm thinking he'll be 9-10 fully grown. To me, he's tiny tiny but compared to other Yorkies he's huge. I think the little ones are adorable but I don't think I'll ever not have a teapot. Maggie (who will be here in a couple of weeks) is 9-10lbs as well. I would for sure accidentally kill a dog any smaller than Franklin. I love that he's sturdy and I can play rough with him. He's still always the smallest dog at the dog park! |
Bobby was about 7lbs at 6 months. he is now 9lbs at 10 1/2 months. I think he is still growing too because I just recently had to readjust his Leash to make it looser. |
Jezebel is six months old and 5.5 pounds. The breeder I purchased her from assured me she would not get over 4 pounds. Her daddy is only 3 pounds and her mom is 4.5 pounds. I have no idea how big she will get!! It kind of worries me, but I love her regardless. :) |
Oh yea, I forgot a man in Walmart told me the other day that scince she has been spayed she was really going to get big now! Anyone know if this is true??? |

Pepper was growing fast, at 6 months he was around 4.5-5 lbs. Now he's almost 2 and almost 7 lbs. He was neutered but is so active and hyper that I believe is at his perfect and optimal weight now :) |
Thanks for all ur help everyone!! Yeah i think he might grow to about 10lb which i dont mind he is my little baby i love him no matter what ... i just cant believe he weighs so much when he looks so tiny lol. Go and have a look on the videos i just posted a video on him eating his bone lol he looks so cute :D xxx |
"Yorkies are like a box of Chocolates, You never know what you are going to get" Breeders assure you of size, but there is definitely no way of determining how big they'll actually be... Take it from me... My :aimeeyorkNygee's dam was 10 lbs and sire 6 lbs, and Nygee should weight 5lbs, but actually weighs 6.4, she's a bit chunky right now... My :aimeeyorkGizmo parents were both small, dam was 5lbs and the sire was 3.8 lbs... But my beautiful Gizmo is a whole 11.2 lbs... The breeder sold him to me as a tiny(teacup) I paid the price if a tiny... But we fell in love with Gizmo no matter how big he turned out... He's extremely intilligent, extremely affectionate, very independate.... What else can I ask for...And last but not least... :aimeeyorkGypsy, her dam was 6.8lbs, her sire was 5lbs, and my tiny Gypsy is 4 lbs, and on the chunky side as well... But she is a handful, very independant as well, extremely athletic, full of energy... I dont know how she does it, she is non-stop all day long... I love my furbabies no matter how big or small they are... :2hearts2:They are the my all...:2hearts2::yorkiesar |
