Food for thought . . . 1 cup of chocolate chips = 6 ounces therefore 1/18 of a cup would be 1/3 ounce of semi-sweet chocolate. I would think . . . imo . . . that there is less than 1/18 of a cup of chocolate chips in 2 cookies.

Molly don't worry. I caught Coco eating one of my viactive calcium chocolate chews one night. One whole chocolate chew is probably less than what your baby ate. Coco was fine and just had some soft stool for a day and her breath smelled like a chocolate factory all night. I'm not taking any sides in this heated discussion, but I will say this. There are SOOOOOO many doggie treats, of cookies, cupcakes, ect. at places like doggie bakeries. Why take the chance and feed them chocolate when they can get the same satisfaction in a healthier manner for them with their own treats? I personally would never feed Coco chocolate under any circumstances, maybe because I'm overly cautious, but I prefer that she eat treats made for her. She doesn't know what she missing with the chocolate but she loves her own cupcakes and cookies from the bakery.

This site says that 1 ounce of semi-sweet chocolate is equal to 3 tablespoons. I wish I hadn't eaten all the chocolate chip cookies in my cabinet . . . I sure would be crushing two of them to remove the chocolate chips to see if there would be a tablespoon in there!

HI Molly,

I guess the best advice i can give you is " if you think there is something wrong or your still worried then call your vet. Whenever i have a doubt ,concern, or question concerning macy the first person i call is my vet and if i cant get a hold of him I call the breeder. Good Luck I hoe everything is okay.

While small amounts of chocolate most likely will not kill your Yorkie, giving your Yorkie any chocolate is an unnecessary risk in our opinion. If your Yorkie shows any odd signs or behavior, take your Yorkie to the vet immediately. For peace of mind, you may also take them to the vet anyways or call your vet if they ingest any. YorkieTalk would never condone giving a Yorkie (or any dog) chocolate, but that decision is ultimately up to you and you may choose to do what you wish with your pet.
