Todays the day I want to say a huge thanx for everyones welcome to this site and for the kindness for my baby Well todays the day she goes to the vets i fear the worst for her its tearing me in half to see her like this. Her siezures are getting more frequent now and shes got no life at all in her little bones she lays in bed all day just getting out for food, water and the loo Iv tried and tried to get her back to her old self to no avail I just know if she doesnt snap outta this depressed spell (because thats just how she looks - depressed) that the vet will put her to sleep cos shes got no quality of life at the moment. her siezures are more like cramp as she doesnt thrash about just goes rigid as though shes got cramp or something and last just seconds i would really appreciate any advise or tips at the minute. Anyway thanx to all and i,ll post an update as soon as we,ve been to the vets. x |

My dog has epilepsy. She's not a yorkie, but a small dog of only 6 lbs. She takes phenobarbitol (sp) once a day (wrapped in cheese!). She does excellent on the meds. She still has a seizure once in a while, but they are not as bad, and a LOT less frequent. She does the same thing, she gets real stiff and her head tilts back. She can tell when one is coming. She stays right by me, and will insist on me holding her. It took me a long time to catch on to this. But now when she is persistent, I just hold her and wait for it! Brooke |
