I am NOT making this up!
I took Olivia on a walk yesterday down to the boardwalk on the Chesapeake Bay near my house. Well, as we were walking two girls passed us, and one said "That dog is soo cute!" Her friend promptly looked at Olivia and said, "Oh, that's a long haired Chihuahua." At this point, Olivia stops DEAD in her tracks, like she understands English and is taking this as the biggest insult iin her life. (and no, I didnt correct the girl, I was busy fuming lol)

As for me, I have nothing against Chis, I think they're cute, but IN NO WAY does Olivia look anything like one!

What do you think?!

Some people are just sooo stupid. I get asked all the time if my Chloe (who is a maltese) is a yorkie or maltese. Could they look any more different?!? LOL!

I agreed with you, Olivia doesn't look like a Chihuahua at all. She is so beautiful. Some people swear they know and dont know anything.

that picture screams Yorkie all the way!! I in no way see any resemblence to a long haired chi.

I know that all three of my furkiddo's look like chihuahua's only when they are wet in the shower lol...

Umm...your yorkie is about as close in appearance to a chi
as poodle is to a dachshund! My gosh the people in this
world that think they know everything just kill me....

Ahhh no!!!! She's a precious Yorkie girl. I walk my puppies alot and am always amazed at the number of people who come up and ask me what kind of dogs they are. Sometimes I feel like a Yorkie educator...LOL

I think people who don't know the answer to something should learn to listen first and talk second...That was pretty ignorant of her to answer a question when she didn't know the RIGHT answer - a better way would have just been to ASK you ! lol...people will be people but some make you really scratch your head - even as a KID I knew what a Chi looked like vs Yorkies !

Peopple need not say anything if they don't know. Sounds like she wanted to show her firiend that she knew something.

I have owned a long haired chihuahua and the two look nothing alike. NO your Yorkie does not look like a chihuahua

Olivia is beautiful and lokks nothing like a chi! She is a perfect little yorkie girl!!! Too funny that she understands Engliish and stopped dead in her tracks!!! Sooo cute!!! I am sooo sorry she had to hear the ignorance of that insult!

haha hmmm..i'm def. not seeing a chi..just a beautiful yorkie!!!! I have to admit tho.. Bentley does kinda look like one after hes had a bath!

omg.... she is totally Yorkie,,, people that dont know ,,, should not speak outloud! Last weekend at the " strut your Mutt" someone walked by us, and I heard them say " Oh that's a little sheltie" :eek: WHAT??!! We kept walking!

someone once mistook charlie for a chi! then the next day, someone else called him a shihtzu.

the worst, though, was when someone asked if my black pug was part pit-bull...

anyway, we all know they are yorkies and that's all that matters!

There are peoples who think they know than the others.

I really laugh when someone tell another person that my Yorkies are long coated Chihuahuas .

Odds are it's the first small dog breed they could think of. No harm no foul.

She's obviously not a dog person, because anyone would be able to tell them apart. And I probably would have corrected her - it would annoy me if I didn't.

Olivia is so adorable! She definitely looks like a Yorkie! IMO, she looks nothing like a chi! Some people are so ignorant. They think they know everything about dogs, and it turns out that they know absolutely nothing! I have nothing against chis, just ignorant people! LOL! :D

Ha! That lady needs a dunce cap. She must not know her dog breeds at ALL. You should have corrected her and told her that Olivia was a shih tzu and confused her REAL good. :rolleyes: Hahaha. Geez.

Olivia is beautiful though, she's got such a cute little YORKIE face! I love her topknot too.

I think long haired chis are adorable and I'd get one if they didn't shed. But your baby is yorkie through and through!! I've loved dogs all my life and have learned and watched dog shows etc. I've found that a lot of people just don't know dogs. I just correct them and go on about my business. Their loss, IMO.
