What is an enzyme cleaner??? Everyone keeps talking about these, but doesn't give a brand name, I honestly don't know what it is, but I NEED to get some b/c my house is strating to stink!!! We have carpet in the apartment, and don't want to lose our deposit b/c Maxx isn't picking up on the wee wee pad idea....ha ha |
We use a product from Petco called Nature's Miracle. It works very well for us. I did a quick internet search for you that might help. I can't recommend any of these besides the Nature's Miracle since I haven't used them, but at least this will give your search a starting place. Trust me, you are not alone. ;) ***************************************** Widely available products: Oxy-Clean Simple Solution Nature's Miracle Odor Ban Some new and novel products: Odorsol Special for Pet Life Readers! 888-802-2710 Planet Urine 888-286-ODOR Planet Urine | Urine happens. Thank you so mcuh!! Yea I have the Nature's Miracle, didn't know that's what you guys were talking about, but it isn't seeming to work, or I'm doing something wrong b/c he still pees all over the carpet and it is stinky! |
I use Simple Solution. Are you let it dry completely? Urine contains uric acid which binds to the fibers in the carpet. Regular shampoos can't break up the uric acid but enzyme cleaners actually "eat" away the uric acid. That's why you need to thoroughly soak the stain and then let it dry, to give the enzymes proper time to break up the acid. I also recommend getting a blacklight and finding ALL the spots. Sometimes they pee and you don't even know! Soak every stain with an enzyme solution, let it dry, and then get a carpet shampooer or steamer and clean again. Good luck! |
