trying to learn to make clothes for andy... Ok so I need help. I'm about to throw an expensive piece of equipment out the window. I can not figure out how to load my new sewing machine. Hubby got it for me for christmas and I cant figure out how to work the dang thing. I followed the directions to the best of my blonde ability  but the dang thing obviously isnt being loaded right cause it gets all jammed up and the thread gets all tangled up in the under part thing. UGH I need halp:confused::confused::confused: |
I can't even sew buttons on a blouse, let alone thread a sewing machine. It's 2008, it needs to thread automaticaly. Quote:

OMG, the same thing happens to me! I inherited a beautiful sewing machine but somehow I manage to constantly knot up the thread! I, too, get SO frustrated. I have tried adjusting the tension from the handbook, but that didn't help. I am longing to try and make something, but just end up cross! The annoying thing is that a friend of mine borrowed the machine to make up some new curtains, and she says it works beautifully and she didn't have to adjust anything ! What on earth can I be doing wrong??!! Hope someone can give us both some help! Luv Franceen |
I've given up for now. I have no idea! |

It's hard to give advice for this over the computer but it sounds like your bobbins aren't wound right. If the bobbin isn't wound tight it can get all caught up. The bobbin should look smooth without any bumps or loose parts sticking out. Also, if you don't thread the needle correctly it will tangle up. It has to be thread though all the loops and holes correctly. Other than that I would say go take a class, it might just be something small! I hope you get it worked out because it is fun to sew for your little ones!!:) |
Make sure you are using the correct bobbins for your machine. Even though they may look the same, there may be some tiny difference that may make your machine act up. |
Just keep referring to the book, and try to thread your machine exactly as it says. I agree that you should make sure you have the correct bobbin, and that it is filled properly. But also, it might not hurt to try using a new needle. I believe it says in my book, that you should replace the needle after 8 hours of sewing. Some times when my machine is acting up, that is what the problem is. Keep trying and don't give up. Good luck Janice |
