I need advice i want to sign lily may up for puppy class. the class starts may 6, and she will be 6 mo.old on that day. my problem is, do i get her spayed during class? the classes are on tue, i can get her spayed on a wed and she will have a week until next class. i called the vet and they said she would be ok to go to class after being spayed. or would it be better to just wait the 6 weeks then get her spayed after classes? what are the chances she will come into heat during those 6 weeks? i don't want her to come into heat during class. i don't know what to do. i know that everyone here has great advice so please tell me your opinion on what i should do. thanks deeahanna |
If I had to bet money I would say shes not going to begin her heat for 6 weeks. Its really up to you but I think if it were me Id wait on the spay. Good luck |
I think she should be okay if you have her spayed and she has a week to rest. I don't think I would let her run and jump but walking and sitting and staying should be fine! Good luck |
Ask the trainers at the store. Maybe they would prefer waiting till after the class. I wouldnt let her do socialization during that week tho. Which classes are you signing up for, Petsmart or Petco. I just finished classes at Petsmart and there was 2 weeks we just reviewed, i think weeks 5 and 7. Maybe you could get her done before that week, like the day after week's 4 class, and then skip the review week. You wouldn't be missing anything, and you could just practice more at home when she's feeling better. |
the classes aren't thru any pet store. i got the ladies name from the pet supply place in town. i think i am going to wait intil after classes to have her spayed and hope she doesn't come into heat. i would feel better not having to worry about her after the surgery, now i will just keep checking her bottom and worry about her coming into heat. LOL seems like there is always something to worry about. but i wouldn't have it any other way i love her so much!!! |
