Pixie is STILL losing teeth! I haven't plucked up the courage to book Pixie in for her spay yet but I know that i must do it soon..it's something i am dreading, She still has alot of her baby teeth to come out (she's 10 months old) all four canines, most of the top front ones and some back teeth that i can see! In the last couple of days she has lost 3 large back teeth! She has been chewing on a bone so i think that this has helped to dislodge them..This morning i was attempting..lol..to brush her teeth using some dog toothpaste and a cotton cloth..and 2 back teeth came out in the process!:D I hope they continue to fall out this way...a few less for the vet to remove anyway! Do you think it's wise to wait a bit longer and see if anymore come out on their own? I do see a couple more that are loose.. |
Lots of threads on teeth today i notice!..:p |
It does seem to be a 'teeth' day.:p I'm not an expert but she could keep losing them up until a year so you could proabably hold off if there's no chance of a little boy getting to her. |
She just had her first season in march..I didn't want her to have a season but i was waiting for her to put on more weight and hopefully lose more of those teeth! She's 3lbs now so i'm a bit happier! |
shes tiny! I would wait it out a little while longer she may lose some more Mine had to have all 4 of their canine pulled so I think those are the most difficult to come out |

I would also wait for a little while longer. Try rolling up a wet wash cloth and put it in the freezer for a few hours then get it out and let her chew on it. That will help ease some of the pain and help loosen up the teeth also. I did that with Otis he loved it. He was (I think), 7 month old and had already lost all of his baby teeth. I just always kept something for him to chew on. (Which really helped) Good luck.... |
I am waiting with Roxie until she is a year so I can get any baby teeth out at the same time. Roxie is 28 weeks and still has quite a few baby teeth too. |
Play lots of tug of war with her and some more might loosen up |
Because she is so petite her mouth is tiny..its really difficult to get in there and have a good look..let alone do any brushing! I'm also going to purchase Petzlife gel as well as struggle on with the brushing..I bought a finger brush..but even that is too big for her tiny mouth..so i have resorted to wrapping a cloth around my index finger with a little toothpaste on it. |
I am not an expert either but Copper was still loosing teeth here and there so we also held off a bit. It seems like yorkies do everything at their own pase. |
