Keep your fingers crossed My old gal who is a Ch. Chelsea Nimar For Keeps grandaughter is bred. If all goes well I will be having puppies around my birthday. (middle of August) I have been afraid to take her to the Vet cause I thought I was just hoping and did not want to face the disappointment of being told that I was just wishing. According to the vet I have 4 babies. Last year I had only one litter and the year before nothing- this is my year to catch up. I am having to breed some of my old timers before they are too old and it is time to retire them. I will just keep my fingers and toes crossed that they are all healthy and GIRLS. I am going to make her eat out of a pink bowl and sleep on a pink blanket. I know i'm too late the sex has already been determined- but I am going to be the only show person in the states who has all males and no females. The bloody barn cats( two traveling salesladies who were dropped off pregnant) had 11 kittens and there were 9 males. |
LOL Oh, my, that's terrible, well not about the cats. More males less females = fewer kittens. I hope you have female Yorkies. Was she very expensive? Could you find another in the same line? Sylvia |
My fingers and toes are crossed and I am "thinkingPink"! :p |
Litters Best wishes...do you know Lauire (Paddington) had all males for several years. and if I am not mistaken Bev at Tiffany told me they had all males for the first 9 litters or so when they started with the English import, Luna Star (?) It happens. One year I had three girls come into season a week apart...I got a total of 13 puppies...all GIRLS...but out of 13, I only got 3 who were 5 pounds. TEN girls not bigger enough to breed or just borderline..!!! |
Pat, you had 13 puppies from 3 moms? How many were in each litter? Sylvia |
I am hoping you have all girls! |
Girls Pat you are so right- the size is the biggest problem that I have found with the old Chelsea Nimar. They are so bloody little. You are lucky to get male or female who weighs 4 pounds. You have to breed how many to get a female and then hope she has some size to her Little Rowdy who I use for breeding makes 4 pounds on a good day- after eating a feast and with no exercise. It is a struggle to keep him at 4 pounds. He will be 5 years this fall and has the Chelsea Nimar on the top half of his dam. With some of what I have seen in the ring I am considering growing his coat out and trying him at some international shows next spring. His coat grows like a weed. Getting his topknot and whiskers will be the problem. This is who I bred my Trudy with. Trudy is a mommy girl and does not do well with any kind of change. |
I'm thinkin' PINK! Also, I'm hoping that they will be big eaters and grow fast, LOL!... |
Congratulations on your upcoming litter. Keep us posted and make sure you show us your adorable puppy pics. Hopefully all FEMALES. |
