Snickers is absolutely adorable! He is big. My Trixie is just 5 mos. old and is just under 4 lbs. She has really been growing slowly and I don't expect but maybe another lb on her. Funny how things like this don't really matter once you fall in love, right? They are just perfect as they are!

WOW 12,2 pounds.. well for me it doesnt matter anymore.. he is my boy .. and i love him sooooo much..
it is only dissapointed if i want to travel and he cant come with me in my handluggage if he is getting to big or heavy... he wil be fine with my hubby and my other 2 dogs,. but then im lonely again LOL :)
And he misses me when i even leave the room to go to bed .. also when im away for a day with my sister and i leave him with my hubby and my other dogs he really misses me ,. cause he sometimes cries.. and when i come back he is all happy again .. at least he loves me too !!!!!! :))))

i was told that Caden would stop growing around 5 months . jeez were they wrong . at 8 months Caden was 8 pounds im pretty sure . then he had a big growth spurt from then until now (he's turning 1 on may 7th) . now, hes 12.2 pounds . still looks loike he could pass for 9 pounds . doesnt look thaaaat big at all . no one can tell you for sure, but people here might give you estimates . i honestly think Caden is still growing, but at a slower pace . around 1 year, i imagine your baby will reach its full weight . maybe 13 or 14 pounds ? it sounds big, but they still look quite adorable =]

just mooooore to love :D

hope i helpeddd =]

His mom was 6 pounds and his dad was 2 1/2. Well, at 12 weeks he is 4.8 pounds and my mom keeps calling me in a panic. She loves him to death and it really will not make a big difference how large he gets to be, but she is wondering how big he might end up. Has anyone ever had a puppy this large and how big do you think he might get? Do they typically double what they weigh at three months?

That's where I am at right now!!! Maxx's mom was 3 1/2 pound and his dad 5 1/2 and ummm he is already 4lbs and he just turned 12 weeks. Maybe am I feeding him wrong?????

i want to see pics:))))
No i know exactly what you mean... i fell in love when i met him first and my love is more every minute.. :)
I bought him such a cool jacket today, cause he growed out of all his hoodys and shirts.. but i made my friend happy.. i met her at puppy classes 2 weeks ago and she has a yorkie too,. his name is Misiu.. he is super tiny too :) so he fits all snickers his clothes now !

Feeding schedule for puppies?

Are they supposed to be on a feeding schedule when they are puppies. The breeder told me that they should have access to food and water at all times when they are puppies, so that is what I have been doing with my puppy. My puppy is pretty small- she is 11 weeks and just over a pound I think. My mom has a larger yorkie- 4.8 pounds at 12 weeks- I wonder is her dog should only be fed at certain times?

Priscilla80 04-17-2008 04:44 AM

When they are puppies they should be fed alot. and must always access to fresh water.
I gave my snickers when i just got him 3 till 4 times a day a little.
And now 2 times a day.. but in the afternoon he gets treats and also his normal food as treats.. so thats ok.
I dont think its ok to keep the food all day standing,. cause then you get lazy dogs i hear. And also its better to get him potty trained when you give him on certain times.
Mine gets food after his walk in the morning between between 10 and 10.30 am and between 6-7pm
when you know when he has ate you can let him rest and then you can walk him after.. so you know he needs to make a doodle.. lol
:) when you dont know when your puppy has been aten you never know when he is gonna do his doodle..
But thats my opinion..
Snickers is doing 85% everything outside when we do walks or when he is in the garden.. so it works pretty good. Also they told me this on the puppy classes i do with him.

I have dry food (and water) out for my puppy at all times and I feed her canned din din 3 times a day now. She's 5 mos. now, but when she was 11 weeks I would feed her 4 times a day.

I feed her the canned servings in her crate. When she is done, I take her directly outside to do her business. This helps a great deal with house training. It also lets me know how much she ate, as I have an 8 yr old westie who is after her food :) He's a sly one! Anything the other one has, ya know!

Snickers is a total doll and just perfect!!!! Some breeders will say just about anything to sell a puppy. Nobody knows for sure how big they will get---it is definitely just an educated guess! :)

I think Snickers will keep growing. At least my Bella continued to grow! ;)

My little teapot is 10 pounds of pure joy!! I thought I wanted a small baby. I started to get dissapointed when she started getting into the 6 pound range at like 5 months old. But now I dont think I would change a thing. She is like a teddy bear. She is great to hug. I dont worry like crazy when she is playing and jumping around. And when I take her out...she still looks tiny compared to ther doggies.
I fly a lot and take her with me on the plane. The weight limit (at least in America...for Delta I dont know about all) is 20 pounds.

Your pics are so cute! No matter the size he's a keeper! What a cutie! You are pretty gorgeous yourself! Good luck with your furbaby!

I think Snickers is just adorable. He looks happy, healthy and well loved!

Lexie Blue 04-17-2008 08:48 AM

I thought I was the only one with a "plus size". I was told my Lexie would be around 7-8 lbs. Well, she's now 14 lbs. at a year and a half (definitely not a purse dog). She was approximately 7 lbs. at 5 months. I wanted the standard because she would be going to the lake a lot, and we lead very active lives. She is a beauty and the smartest thing. I'm waiting for words just to pop out of her mouth. My second baby is 3 lbs at 5 months. The breeder said she would get to about 4-5 lbs, so I figured 7-8 lbs. She's tiny and it scares me half to death. I find myself praying she'll get bigger. She is filling out and getting sturdier. She's also a beauty but not so smart. While I'm waiting for Molly to sit, Lexie's been playing dead for about 3 mins (hehehe).

If your not breeding you may be happy with the larger version.
They are in every way all Yorkie but just bigger. Same personality
and temperment. Just more to love.
