Is 16oz a pound? Hello YT members I am really confused there is 16 oz to 1 lbs is that correct? Why are some scales 10oz to 1 lb so how do you figure out your yorkies correct weight or are they the same because when I go to the vet there scale is 10oz and at pets smart my yorkie weighs different. I know I probably sound stupid but just wondering if there is a difference and to which one is his correct weight. Have a great evening to all!! |
yes, 16 oz. is a pound every day of the week! Maybe the scale weighs in 10ths of a lb. |
Yep! In my vets office..if the scale reads 1.5 lbs, its actually 1lb 8ozs. |

My scale has pounds and ounces so you have to know if the scale you are using is pounds and ounces or tenths of a pound. One tenth of one pound would be 1.6 ounces. I would go by the vet's scale. |

I am a first time Yorkie owner so that's why it was confussing about the weight difference. Thank so much for the help |
Ask your vet to tell you how much he weighs in pounds and ounces. I had a BIG discussion with my vet about this. He had never had anyone question him about it..he's only been in practice a couple of years. So now when I go in, he just pushes the button on the scale to change it to ounces instead of tenths! He said he prescribes his meds by tenths, not ounces. I thought it was very interesting:p |
