Front Carrier for Small Yorkie?
 
I'm trying to find a small front carrier for a small Yorkie. Logan weighs 3 lbs. We want to go hiking with him and think a front carrier will be safest and more comfortable for both us and Logan. But I can't find one small enough. Has anyone else found one anywhere?

you can find front carriers at pet stores... im sure they have some

This is the style we got for our little girl when she was too little go for walks. You can fit any small dog in it and they can look out the sides or if tall enough, over the top.

Puppylove. I have a brand new camaflauge carrier ideal for hiking. I bought it for Lilly and then had second thoughts due to color. I'd ideal for a boy. Lilly is 4 lbs. and she fits perfect in it. If you'd like I can send you some pictures. I paid $75 for it at a specialty shop in NJ. If you wanted it - just to find it a good home I'd sell it for $50 shipped in the US. Elaine

I also should tell you that it is enclosed so he won't fall out - yet he can see everything. I bought it because I do photography and need my hands free when I work but I just hate the color for a girl. I would have to check to see if it can be used as a front back pack. I know it's worn on your back but I think it may also be able to be worn on the front. It really is ideal for hiking - going to fairs etc. I just haven't gotten around to listing it. I have a couple of carriers I need to list. Elaine

Was that pertaining to my carrier? I paid $75 for it at a specialty dog shop in Smithville. It's quite nice and I think she'd be pleased with the $50 shipped once she had it and it's brand new - I think it still has the tags. I guess there may be cheaper - I don't know.

That's cute too. The only thing is if she has an active dog. If she's using it for hiking - I think she'd be better looking for one that closes completely so he does not fall out. I know only one of mine would actually sit in that as nice as that Yorkie. LOL. My others would be trying to climb out. Ha ha. Elaine

There is a little leash with clip in it to hook to the harness and the top can be closed... Oh... and I custom make them to size...

BTW... the Yorkie is my little Mitzi and the guy is my hubby... :p

I saw this at PetSmart today, but the medium is too big for Logan, and they didn't carry the small. I will see if they have it online, however.

Yes, that looks good. But wouldn't it swallow up a 3 lb. Yorkie? It's hard to tell from the picture. Where did you get it?

Thanks! Yes, I do make them, you can choose from all kinds of fabrics and as I said I custom make them to size...

how old is logan... if he's not going to grow anymore than 3 lbs, i'd recommend the karipet (KARIPET® Pet Carriers & Pet Car Seat made by StubbyTails). i plan on buying it for Kash, but he's only 19 weeks old so i figure he'd grow out of it if i got it now... they make them custom to fit the smallest size dogs. it looks comfortable for the dog... i don't know for sure, but i guess i'll find out. :) the smallest size is about $40 (which includes ground shipping). the photo below is from their website...
