To Fee or Not to Feed, That is The Question Science Diet anyone? I'm thinking of changing Star's food from what the breeder fed her. My vet recommends Science Diet Puppy small bites. Any feedback guys? I come to this site for everything. You guys are there when we need you. Thanks so much:thumbup: |

Max isn't keen on this food, but is quite happy to have a little wet food added. His stools aren't loose anymore, as they were with wet food, but I don't think his skin is as healthy as it was. I'm adding cod liver oil now, hopefully his skin will improve. It might not be the Science Plan that's made his skin dry, it could be the central heating. |

I changed back to S/D but the natures best lamb and rice. It's the only S/D that doesn't have corn or wheat. I changed over because I couldn't afford to have the food delivered anymore. I had researched it and so far they have been on it for about a month. They love it and their hair is growing so soft and smooth. |
I feed Wellness and my doggies love it:D |
Although SD is probably not the worst food you could give there are definitely better options. You can go to dogfoodanalysis.com and find what will work better for you and something w/a higher rating. Good luck |
I would never never feed Science Diet. I'm in vet school so I know all the tricks Hill's does to get vets to market their products... vets receive very little nutrition education...and what they do receive is from a Hill's rep because Hill's donates so much money to the AVMA every year. Hill's does a lot of great things for veterinary medicine but their food is nothing I would consider feeding my dogs. No way No way |
Thanks everyone. I knew I could count on you.:D |
I feed my yorkie Royal Canine Digest & Skin. |

To the original poster....Science Diet received a 1 star rating and is not recommended. |
I feed Canidae All Life Stages to all my dogs. I have fed Wellness and Innova EVO. My best recommendation would be to do some independent research on dog foods (at sites NOT representing a specific food) and get a good dog food education and become a label reader. If I can't understand what the ingredients are, then I don't want to feed them to my precious pooches. |
