Having more than one dog.... How it is having more than one dog? I am thinking about getting a beagel (good opportunity) but I am so nervous. At the sametime I hate the fact that Shadow stays home all day by himself and he really needs a friend to play with. So be honest with me...is having more than one dog a lot of work? |

Having more than one dog (especially since you're only talking about having two) is ALOT more fun than it is alot more work!:D As of TODAY we now have 4 yorkies! Whatever work it entails is a labor of love for us! |

7 dogs here and no more work than 4, well not much more ;) One dog can get lonely..:( |

I'll be honest. I am scared to share the love I feel for shadow with another dog! I love him so much that It makes me sad to think that he no longer be the ONLY one. I know..It sounds strange but that's how I feel. |

I have two. I love that they keep each other company when we are not home. The only bad thing is everything is double. The vet bills, meds, boarding, grooming. One other thing is if one has a bad habit the other usually will pick it up. |

I have two also. I think they keep each other company. I don't ever regret adopting Lucky, our 2nd one. We have a fenced in part of our yard so that makes it much easier to let them out to do their business. Good Luck with your decision. Let us know what you decide. :goodluck: P.S. I think beagles are so....cute. :) |

I got my pekingese Snoot when I was 14 years old and now I'll be turning 27 in July. He was the only baby for so long and then I got Trixie. Not only did she bring such joy to me but she's been a blessing for Snoot. :) She truly brought back his youthful side. I then became yorkie obsessed and ended up getting Pia and Paisley. :D Sure having four babies is a little more work then one baby but its sooooooooooooooo worth it. I believe having a good schedule is the key. Trixie created more work because I wasn't used to having a baby potty inside and cleaning that up. When I added Pia and Paisley it really didn't make much of a difference because I was used to it already. The only thing I hate are bath days. :thumbdown I have four babies that hate bath time and its a headache, LOL. However, even if I had to bath them every single day, the good would still weigh out the bad. I say go for it. Heck I still would love to have another pekingese and another yorkie. :p |

When our daughters mixed breed pasted away, I felt so sorry for Sami. The times we couldn't take her with us made me feel so bad for her. Then one day my husband was talking to Sami and said you need a "partner in crime"LOL. Along came Odie and then Roo. It just made us feel better knowing they had each other when we were gone. It was the right decision for us and really three are not anymore work than one.(well bathing and grooming take longer) LOL. You'll know what is best for you.:animal-pa |

I think it is like having two skin kids. Twice the effort, twice the love and kisses! My Gracie has so very much enjoyed having Holly to play and snuggle with! Dogs are pack animals, they were born to have doggy buddies. |

I SO agree. A beagle wouldn't be as bad as my two (Yorkie & a Maltese) to groom though. |
