i think that this is great news I am so thankful she is doing a story on puppy mills. That they are allowed to continue to function--to make money at the cost to these dogs is totally unacceptable. |
   Thats great! |
Thats the best news I have heard all day! We will be watching! |
This is great news because of the hugh following Oprah has. I only hope people won't turn the TV off because it breaks their hearts. I know it is difficult to watch but unless people see the truth behind puppy mills it will never change. This is a wonderful step.:D |
This is great! Can't wait to watch it! What a great big step in the right direction! :) |
I've got to remember to watch this. Thanks :) |
thanks for the news, I will tune in! |
Maybe someone could explain exactly what is meant by that expression? I've mentioned in another thread that I bought our Westie, Dylan when she was only six weeks old from a kennel. I thought buying through a kennel is what we were supposed to do. I made sure everything was in order as far as the AKC registration was concerned, but the breeder wouldn't let me see Dylan's mom. She said she wouldn't let me rub this stuffed dog against the mom, 'it's better she gets attached to you, not to her mom.' She also mentioned that she'd taken Dylan from her mother when she was only five weeks old, and that she'd only been in this large open aired pen, never touching the grass. This was in Macon, and we live in Atlanta, so it's about a two hour drive. I had a lot of time to wonder over what I had just lived through. The first vet visit began with the vet telling me I had no business having a dog this young that should still be with it's mom and that I'd not know what a 'real Westie' was like because of being taken away so young. Now, is this a puppy mill situation but through a kennel? I thought only animals at malls and some pet stores sold puppy mill dogs. How do you tell? I'm against 'puppy mills' but can't help being bothered by that is exactly what I inadvertently did. I do intend to watch the show, but could ya'll clarify too?? |
I so want to be home to see this on Friday, as my recorder is broken :( -- but I have no idea how I can be out of work in time. I wish Oprah would put her shows out there online like the major TV stations - because there are others I would like to see too. But Lisa Ling does a great job reporting & I would like to hear what comes from this show. Does anyone know if the whole hour will be dedicated to this issue or is this one of these shows where she covers several topics?? I would really like to ask Oprah, what took so long? She\'s suppose to be a dog lover, wonder where all her dogs came from & why she hasn\'t exposed this before? |
