Long hair and dressing How can I dress my longhaired girl without knotting up her hair? Is there a secret I dont know or does the long silky hair just not go with clothes? |
Silky hair actually does better than cotton coats when it comes to tangles and mats. I always brush Joey before dressing him and upon removing his clothes. Some people have recommended silk undershirts to prevent matting, but if yours is just tangling, bushing or combing before might help. |
I have alot of problems with mollys hair matting to:( I dont keep colthes on over night anymore, that really seems to make it worse, I only dress her during the day for a few hrs and i aways keep the clothes not so tight fitting, like tank dresses and tops;) combing and brushing before & after:) |
JenCar98 makes really nice silk doggie camisoles. This will help prevent matting. |
i use a conditioning/detangling spray and brush her out before i put on clothes and i let her sleep "naked." this seems to work |
This is why I decided to cut Teddi's hair...I realized that she ALWAYS wears clothes so why bother with the long hair and I thought it looks weird to have long hair and wear clothes because then I felt like she looks like a man with a beard! |

I make things for my furkids vest, dress's and some pillow bed's with satin lining for the same reason..... especially maltese and all puppies matte very easily. You can buy the patterns to make your own clothing. |
I brush Maxi before we wear clothes and after we take them off. I use detangler too but he only wears clothes during the day and not all the time. I learned that smaller clothes that might be a little tight make the hair all tangled up. So I buy clothes for Maxi that are just a little bigger:) |
