We're having a bad night... I'm not sure what is going on with Diesel tonight! He is being so naughty, and mean!!! He gets so wound up and starts biting! This is the first time he's acted like this. Usually, if he bites I can say ouch loud and he stops. Tonight he acts like he doesn't even hear me! He gets out of his pen for about 15 minutes and starts acting badly so I put him right back in! What is his deal?? I'm hoping he's just having a bad night and its not the way he's going to start acting.... He's usually so sweet:confused: |
Careful you don't use the pen/crate as a training tool when they are bad. I am worried that they will associate that with punishment. |

When Bailey was younger - she had a few bad nights - about one a week. It lasted about 6 weeks and then went away. Typically it was Mondays. I just couldn't understand her behavior on those nights? But she seemed to outgrow it and all is fine now! |

To the OP, I hope it is just a bad night. It took A.J almost a year to grow out of his biting and he still ocassionaly forgets:rolleyes: |
Oh no! Hopefully he is just in a bad mood or something! |
How old is diesel? For the first year or so they will have there moments, could he be teething? How much excersise does he get? X-pens are wonderful, but they still need to get out and go for walks to release all of there energy. |
He'll be 11 weeks tomorrow ( WOW! that's gone by fast!!!) He gets out lots... My kids love to get him out and play, his favorite thing to do is play with our cat, she's very good about putting up with him. I don't think he associates his pen with punishment, because when I put him in there he just starts playing with his toys:rolleyes: I'm hoping its just a phase he's going through!! |
Hi, I know this might sound crazy, but there is a big difference between play and walk. A walk takes both mental and physical energy, If your Vet says it is ok for him to go outside and walk I would highly recomend it you will notice a difference quickly. |
