My Teapot was assaulted! Hello everyone, We are back after a short absence. Stanford is doing great! Very active, and fully recovered from the dental surgery. Enjoying longer walks, and another trip to go camping this past weekend. The change over to soupy food was no issue for him, and he is gaining weight like mad...up to 5 lbs now. His hair is growing back in nicely, and he is actually getting a thick coat of hair, more than I thought he might get. I will post some updated pics soon. However, yesterday: The "teapot" (as we lovingly nicknamed him) was assaulted by an unruly two year old. His mother came down to visit me, and all of the older boys were nicely petting Stanford, when Stannie decided to jump down off the bench outside and take a stroll around the yard. The toddler darted over as if to pet Stannie, then hauled off and kicked him in the ass! Stanford darted out of reach, but the child charged him and kicked him in the jaw. I really like kids, but this little brat...well, Mommy put him in a useless time out, which he broke and came running over to me, as I had Stanford in my arms. He tried to reach for him, and I told him "NO", and that it was not nice to hurt the dog. He laughed. I leaned down and told him to "knock it the H*** off, or you'll be in a world of hurt, young man". He ran to Mommy, who was most surprised that he was now listening. LOL Stanford is just fine. Pissed off at the kid, so it is good thing that he has no teeth left. Good thing those were tiny feet. If Stannie had been injured, that child would have been hauled up by his diapers and attached to my flagpole! So no more toddlers. Stanford + toddler = disaster. FOR THE KID. |
I am so glad that Stannie is doing so well ... can't wait to see how he looks now. :) Poor baby ... that's one kid I wish he could have bitten! Thanks for the update and welcome back, you were missed! |
I'm so glad Stanford was not seriously hurt......Glad you was in close enough proximity to handle the situation.......Sounds like you handled it just fine..... |
Well, I felt badly speaking to a toddler that way, but I was STEAMED. |
Someone needed to talk to the kid that way - his mom wasn't going to do it!! Most people wonder why kids don't respect adults? Its because the parents don't demand it.....ahhh - don't get me started on unruly kids - just keep 'em away from me and my Bailey!! I'm glad Stannie is okay!! |
Mathew, I have to ask - are you the same young man who posted some time late last year about a Yorkie you found??? I think his name was Mil/Miley/Miles?? I have not been around for a while and am just now catching up, but your name kinda jumped out at me because I remembered this incident so well and was so moved by it. Sorry if it was not you, but had to ask. Anyway - whether it be a furbaby or skinbaby - I sure love your way of thinking!! Good for you for standing up for YOUR baby!! I have had similar experiences with a toddler and two years old or not, I will NEVER tolerate cruelty, even if it is unintentional. The Mom should KNOW better.:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown Lauren |

wow, I'd have beat the kid  that's just mean. I'm glad Stanford is allright. |
I am glad to be back. I missed you all. Yep, that is me, Lauren. Stanford is now a permanent member of our family. And the last one...no more room at this inn! |
oh i am so glad your furkid is ok. You did the right thing standing up for your baby. I could of done the same. It is so sad that not all parents teach their kids how to love and respect animals.:( If I would have a kid thats the first thing I would teach. |

Soooo happy to see you here too:D:D:D!! I've been kinda MIA for a while.:) (Hope your son is fully recovered:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:) Mathew!!! Oh I am so glad you have your very own Yorkie now. I need to know details.... anyone wanna fill me in? Maureen?? I remember how sorry I was when he returned Miles to what could not possibly have been as loving a parent as Mathew would have made. Oh yay! it's so great to find something like this my first few days back. No wonder I missed this place so much. Hugs,:ghug: Lauren edit: erm.... Miles and Stanford are one and the same? I am sooooooooo confused now:eek: |

However I am still confuuuuuuuused.... are Miles and Stanford the same dog?? Lauren:D |
Here ya go Lauren! This should clear up the confusion. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=113811 Matthew, I'm so glad that the little boy didn't hurt Stanford. Kids are resilient and I'm sure you weren't that abrupt with him. If he is as wild as you described I'm sure that his mother has snapped at him before. |
