Help! Jasmine got spayed and we are debating on picking her up today or tomorrow. We want to pick her up today to really keep a good eye on her or to trust the vets and let her stay! She is 2 pounds and we are worried that she will get a low sugar since she hasn't aten since 9 last night! Please help us decide! |
Pick her up today. It would be better if she is home with you and you can watch her |
I would pick her up and watch her at home. Sometimes the vets office doesn't have anyone staying overnight to monitor them. |
It depends, if someone will be there to watch her overnight, it may be better for her to stay there in case something happened -- the vet would already be there to help treat her. However, if no one will be there, I think you should take her home so you can keep an eye on her overnight. |
If nobody stays there AWAKE overnight, pick her up. If someone is there, I would consider letting her stay but I see no problem bringing her home either. I would stay up all night with her though (I am over protective:) ). |
oh I'd hafta go pick her up!,, i picked up both our girls as soon as they were allowed to leave (within hours of their surgeries) and Cricket was tiny at the time too. I knew I'd watch her more closely (like NON stop)lol,, but all was good.. i'm sure it will be for you too!!:) |
The vet said that they have staff that stays there overnight |

Personally, I wouldn't leave my dog overnight. |
If there is someone there, it is all about what you're comfortable with. Ellie came home about 4 hours after her spay and liver biopsy but I stayed up all night with her. All spays and neuters are released the same day at Ellie's vet and that is fine unless you're not comfortable... |

They can refuse to do the surgery if you insist on taking them home but if you tell them after, they can't hold them... It is your dog. |
Wow, didn't know that. |
