Hello Yorkie Lovers,
My name is Tammy and I am new to yorkie chat..Just wanted to say hello to everyone!! I am hoping that some of you experts that really know your stuff about these beautiful babies could help me.I have been in search for a yorkie which seems like months now. I worked with a breeder who was helping me find the health, look and personality that I was looking for.. She helped me alright....She was a broker or worked like a puppy mill would..and the little girl I bought was sooo sick the day I brought her home I tok her to the vet that night ..nothing but problems.cant even remember all the names of stuff that was wrong with her. I tried to make her better,,but My heart could not take anymore when the vet said she probably would not make it. So I took her back to the breeder and thats when i discovered all the lies. She is not breeding or broking anymore..my mom and I made a lot of phone calls and took care of that. But now I am having a trust problem and i was hoping you could help me with that and help me find the prfect little girl of my dreams.. Thank you so much and look so forwrd to hearing form you!!

Welcome!

It's great that you put a stop to that! There is a forum on here just for breeding/finding puppies. Someone can help you locate a breeder in your area that is reputable.

Welcome to Yorkie Talk. You came to the right place. I am sure your little yorkie is out there just waiting for you. There are a lot of great and caring breeders. I am sure you will have her before you know it. it sounds like you learned a lot from your bad experience and there is a lot of info on here about what to look for in a breeder.

Have you exhausted the breeder possibilities in your area? I am in California so a little far but I can certainly answer questions and give feedback on speicific questions. You can go to Breeders,net and put in your zip code...just be aware that not everyone on there is reputable. It just gives you a place to start. Your local Yorkshire terrier club may be able to refer you to a show breeder who has puppies for sale.

Hi Tammy - Welcome to YT! :wavey: I am so sorry to hear about the trouble that you had with that breeder and that poor liitle baby girl. It must have been so hard to let her go. But hopefully you will be able to find someone you can trust soon. I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to help you out. There are so many awesome people here on YT. :jump28ib:

Welcome! You've got a Maryland neighbor here on YT who is one of the best yorkie people on the planet...Whispersmom might be able to help you find someone with a pup locally or at least get on a waiting list for a good one. You can pm me if you wouldn't mind traveling to PA for a pup.

No I dont mind driving to get the new bundle of joy that will be in my life for the next 15 years or so of my life.. I will try to locate her and see if she can help me. Im just having problem finding things..I dont like these comp. I just get on and have been surfing the web for a new baby. Dont really know too much what I am doing..haha

Be very careful and don't rush into anything.. I've heard too many horro storys as to sales of yorkshires.. now that they are breeding teacups breeding fathers to daughter to get them and selling a horribly high price and nothing but geneticly sick dogs for yrs to come.. That is why I bought from out side the country my new male.. We do have nice dogs here too but I was looking for a certain type which I don't see much of in this country.. also more of a powerful looking heavy coated dog..


Make sure you see mom and dad of any pup and make sure where they come form are clean and healthy.. I have 9 dogs one of which is sire to my Mic who is going on 14 and Mic's grand mom is going on 18... we are hoping she will make it over 20 or more as she has all her teeth and eyes are great.. no meds of any kind.. I at that age would be in depends for sure!!!!


God bless you search and pray about it as that's your best adviser of all.. Remember all puppy's are cute but they can break your heart so protect your heart and be very selective..
