cowboy magic is awesome i read a thread about using cowboy magic for knots and matting of fur/hair, and i bought some for Kash, and it works wonders!!! i just wanted to reccommend this product to anyone whose yorkie's hair is uncooperative. lol! the only problem i've had (and this could be solely my experience) is that i have to use a lot of the product in one sitting. this is probably only because Kash's hair is getting really long, and his knots are at the bottom (close to his skin) so i have to massage the product in until it gets to the knots. anyway, for those who are unfamiliar with the product, it's made originally for horses... but it works on other animals and even humans. :) the small bottle (4 oz was $10.95 locally. there is a larger size available, but obivously more expensive... anyway, try it! p.s. it smells great, too! |
i wouldn't be without it. I get mine in a tube. |
I use this on Bonnie and I love it! |
Another horse product that works great for after a bath is show sheen. It's a spray on hair polish made by absorbine. Keeps their coat silky without collecting dust. |
I use it and love it too!! I also put some in a spray water bottle mixed with water for touch up grooming. |

Which do you recommend, the concentrated formula in a tube or the one in a bottle? |
The only one I have used in in the tube. |

I use the tube and I use just a very small amount! |
can you get it at the pet store? |
Oh no don't use show sheen!!! It does do really well but the effects of using it for too long are really bad on horses, I can't imagine what it would do to the silky fine yorkie hair! The Eqyss products are AWESOME! Especially the "survivor" which is just like cowboy magic but smells better IMO. |
Where do you get it? I use Chris Cristenson Day To Day Conditioner and it works nicely also. Thanks |
I have used CM for about 2 years now and I love it!! It really helps gets matts and tangles out. I use it right before a bath to brush them out. You only need a tiny bit at a time, one tube has lasted me for several months. |

I bought my online, e-bay sells it. Tack stores that sell horse supplies sell it, but unless your yorkie is a cotton coat it's not a necessity. Occasionally, when Joey wears clothes he gets tangles under his arms and in the chest area, I wouldn't call them mats, but it works really well to get the tangles out without hurting him. People whose dogs have cotton coats swear by it because matting can be an extreme problem. You may not even need it, and if I use it, I use it before his bath not after, because he will look too greasy. So it just depends on the yorkies coat. |
I just bought a tube from ebay. I think they tube and the bottles may be the same thing..just different sizes?? |
