lookout car seat I am considering buying a lookout car seat for my one year old yorkie for an upcoming car trip. We are driving from Boston to Orlando in a few weeks and I wondering if anyone has put one of these seats inbetween the driver and passenger seats of a minivan. We do not have a console, so my thought was I could wedge one between the seats allowing our puppy to ride next to us...rather than on us during out trip. Has anyone done this...or know of a product designed for this? Thanks! Kris:animal-pa |
I have mine on a console, but as long as the straps can fasten around the seat or somewhere sturdy, I think it would be okay...in fact, it may be even safer on the floor...as long as you can get it strapped in some how! |
I think the problem with having the seat on the floor is the traditional lookout straps in with the seatbelt and nothing else. The console seat straps around the console and also through the seat front/back, so a console seat might be secure on the floor, though it would be at an agle as there is a "lip" that goes over the back of the console. If you don't think it would be a problem to have our baby low and not looking out the window, it will probably be okay. I think the better option would be a lookout in the backseat. Good luck with whatever you decide. |
i think as long as it is firmly secured it should be ok. yank on it hard. |
1 Attachment(s) I have the outward hound car seat.. it has an inflatable bottom so you can adjust it for hight.. It's probably the best $$ I have spent so far!! Roxi is in the car with me all the time and now she is safe and secure and I'm not trying to control her running all around when I'm driving... Here is a pic of Roxi in her car seat!!! |
1 Attachment(s) I don't think a lookout carseat would be secure on the floor. They are meant to be straped in with a seatbelt. And the strap connects to the lap band of the seatbelt as well. I love my look-out carseat! |

Right! I have two lookout car seats and they would not work being in the floor because they are secured with the seat belt. I love them, too, and so do my Bichons. |
Where can you get one for best price? |
