Hello all Yorkietalkers,

With this thread I really don't want to offend anyone but I have to talk about it... I am shock with some peoples attitude!

Yesterday, I saw this television show where this women had 6 small dogs. She would spend 300$ grocery a week for them. They would eat Filet Mignon with the best quality food while she would feed her husband and son junk food. She would have her dog eat in nice porcelaine dishes while her family ate in paper dishes.
She would take her bath everyday with her 3 mini poodles. She would spend around 100000$ a year for dogs accessories (she would have them have manicures also). Her husband worked 80 hours a week to support her hobby and she didn't work. In the end, this husband sleeps in the guest bed while she sleeps with her 6 dogs in the big bed. And he his the one picking up the poop and the pipi in the house... Oh and I forgot, she doesn't have any friends because she says that her dogs are her bestfriends and that she doesn't need anything else!

Is this a mental disease? Honestly, when your kids and your husband are after your dog, you don't know what the priority his... I find this very sad. I am sort of traumatized here... I love my pup very much, and I take a good care of her. But if ever something would happen, I would chose my kids over my dog. And my husband still have a priority in my bed...

If that were my hubby, he would be booting my butt right out the door...that's just ridiculous..humans in my book, come first!

Yep, she sure is mental and needs help. Surprising her husband hasn't left her yet.

I think the husband as a problem too... mine would not accept that at all!

I think both of these people are mental cases!

I wanted to be polite but they sure do have mental cases. My boyfriend was going nuts watching her...
Honestly, it makes you think.... what does she do in her bed with her dogs... if she prefers them to her husband! She prefers a hot bath with her dogs... really, who is she romantic with?

that is a mental issue! i love my girls to death and always give the best for them but gee i would never go that far. plus my hubby would kill me! lol

same here...my bf already thinks i'm nuts...lol... but thta is overboard!!

A similar thought has been going through my mind about some people with their dogs. They make sure their dogs have the BEST food, but they will let their kids eat whatever. They wouldnt be caught dead giving their dogs all of the processed and artificial foods that they are shoving in their childrens faces, or let their dogs eat fast food, but they are very preachy about what you must feed your dog.
Pretty backwards if you ask me.

I think this woman should have stayed single. She has a mental problem or something. If she can provide all of that for her dogs, then that's wonderful...but it only counts as being able to provide it if her hubby and son are well cared for and loved in the same exact way. Anyone who would put their dogs before their own child or husband is pretty screwy, IMO.

What I dont understand is why the Husband puts up with it and works all those hours so she can do it

I just feel so bad for her son, can you imagine your mother putting her dogs ahead of you:( Poor little guy

If the husband accepts this then I think he has the bigger problem.

Was this the lady on wife swap or trading spouses or some show like that?

I need to show my hubby this so he can see I'm not crazy! And I feel sorry for those people, I really do.

He probably doesn't mind working that much to be away from her:rolleyes: she needs some help:(

I saw a story like this on Wife Swap (could have been trading spouses), but I don't know for sure where the OP saw this one.

I can assure you there are mental health issues at work here (and I'm qualified to say that...lol). If it's the show I saw, I'm leaning toward a personality disorder on the woman's part. I thought a lot of her showering affection/care on the dogs was more a way of punishing her husband/child than it was a true obsession for the dogs.

My concern would also be for the son... no child should feel 2nd rate to an animal, no matter how precious the animal baby may be!

I think that women is crazy and Laura would have boot either me or the dogs out of the house.. I mean I love my babies they eat the best food I can afford.. and They sleep in the bed with us.. Thats about it.. I do spend alot of money on them but hey those are my kids lol.. But I'm No where crazy like her lol

Wow! I wouldnt mind being one of her dogs! JK! But what a life, poor hubby!

My hubby would boot all my dogs :( but humans should come first...we don't even eat that good :(

Mine too!!! He doesn't even say anything anymore, he just smiles and shakes his head!!! That chick is a little looney, I saw someone just like that on a Dr Phil once but I couldn't stomach watching the whole thing thru.. made me sick!! her dogs paws had NEVER hit the floor!! how sad for that little dog

Yes exactly, it was on Wife Swap.... it made me so depressed to see that some people are like this.

When you prefer dogs to human, you are crazy!
But yet I love my puppy.... but the is My two sons and husband that comes first...

Sadly, my aunt was much like this. She bred and showed Boston Terriers. She loved her dogs, no doubt. She always put them before her children and husband. She died a lonely woman after alienating her children. Sad!:cry:
