Akc At The Dog Auction Here's another great site I found about a complaint to the AKC.I really never thought how much AKC contributes to the puppymill. They have the power to shut them down yet they choose to support it.Read what this lady did. Her's the link: http://www.geocities.com/jcrowe22/akcmisconduct.html |
wow. i agree, they should not accept dogs bought out of pet stores. no one's going to pay 2,00 + dollars for a dog they can't register. if the AKC stopped accepting them all of the puppy mills would be practically wiped out. it would take some time, but it would happen. its so easy to resolve, why don't they just do it???!!! |
Probably the money is too good. |
hmm, interesting, so those are the kind of people we're dealing with here? i think your absoulty right!!! THIS WHOLE THING JUST MAKES ME SO SAD. what's wrong with the world today? these people are supposed to be caring loving dog lovers, and a normal well mindid dog lover or any person in general would be disgusted with the way those dogs are "raised" if you can even call it that!! its such a simple thing to solve, but i guess money can change ALMOST everything, huh? sorry if this sounds mean, but the whole issue of puppy mills just disgusts me, if there was one time any one was going to see me mean and nasty, it would be a time like this, you know what i mean? |
I wonder if any of our breeders on the forum has anything to add. I don't feel like I can comment cause I know absolutely nothing about AKC regs and dog auctions. If what the woman says is true, the condition of the dogs at the auction should have raised a huge red flag, warranting some investigation!! But I do know that investigations and personnel cost money. But again, I am unfamiliar with the AKC process. My yorkie and schnauzer are not registered. I planned to have them neutered so I figured why bother?? |
well, she did do another post called dog auctions and it shows a video of one. and if you go to the link here it is some letters to the AKC from people who expieranced it personally. I'm defenatly no expert when it comes to this, but when you look at the dogs its obvious they're from puppy mills and the idea of the AKC supporting them upsets me, that is the only reason i posted. i too hope to get mroe input from the breeders because i think they know a little more about things like this than regular pet owners. i hope i didn't offend any one with my earlier posts, if i did i am sorry. |
in response to the AKC Quote:
I know this sounds a bit like "the glass is half empty"...but I really feel its a mute point trying to put an end to the perpetrators of puppy mills... the only real solution is educating the public. The "greedy" will always find a way...through legal channels or otherwise. The best scenario would be for "consumers" to be educated to the point where they no longer purchase their animals from them...and therefore let the "puppy-mills" die a slow death...so to speak.
