What do I do? My hubby and I love our furbaby, Bear, but we’ve noticed that whenever we pick him up he growls… and sometimes will even snap. We checked for injuries, but found none. Why does he do this? |
Poor Baby, How Long Have You Had Him? Has He Always Done This? Is It When He Is Just Waking Up? Is He Just A Puppy? Sorry So Many Questions... Renae |
How old is he ?? Mephis did this a few times but i would tell hime no then give him lots of love I know that doesnt answer your queston but i sure hope things get better |
Is he just a pup and you're leaning down and picking him up? That can be very frightening and may be the cause of his reaction. One of my babies used to always tense up when I lifted him up or put him down too quickly. |
I know of a yorkie that started doing the same thing. Come to find out she has luxating patellas, so whenever her knee would pop out of place she would snap when someone tried to pick her up. I hope you find the source of your baby's behavior, but it sure sounds like he might have some kind of injury??? |
Thank you for all of the feedback. I will definelty check for luxating patella. I will also try picking him up in a different way. He is 7 months old... so maybe he will get better. He is actually really good about being picked up when he is still groggy in the mornings, but not when he is trying to fall asleep. He is so incredibly cute in the morning it is almost unbelievable. He is so sweepy he is like a rag doll. You can cuddle up to him and give him kisses and he loves it. All his worries are gone. My hubby and I always say our favorite Bear is sleepy-time Bear! |
