bell's from a puppy mill well guys i have been researching for over 2 hours.. i did this when i got bell but i didn't look in the right places... i am so MAD at these stupid people who lower themselves to breeding dogs in this inhumane way and i am SO MAD at the pet stores who buy and sell these dogs... :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown . some of you know my girl Bell has Liver Shunt. thank god she got her repair surgery almost 2 months ago. she goes for her check up bile acid test on 4/05. :xfingers: hopefully all is good now.. but this friday is the big day in court with the pet store i got her from.. so, i was looking around the web for some more info on her breeder. and i found that they run a puppy mill.:( . they had 167 dogs at there site when the USDA inspected them..:thumbdown :thumbdown . that is considered a puppy mill. i am so sad. also, she was sent to the HUNTE facility before the pet store. from my understanding of reading about them they are the middle man of these puppy mills. they but the pups, check them and give shots, then sell them to the pet stores.. they are just as terrible as the puppy mills.. HUNTE is a huge facility who place LOTS of puppies all around the U.S. i hate all this.. but i love my girl anyways.. she is my baby. i had a feeling that this was her horrible beginnings in life but i just kinda kept those thoughts down. now i know and i am so sad by this.. this **** needs to STOP!!! |
But maybe just maybe one person will read your post and research BEFORE they purchase that cute puppy. Prayers and best wishes for Bell on her visit on the 5th. |
Sorry you had to go thru this. Praying for your baby and you. Good luck in court. |
I want to wish you good luck in court. Hope Bell gets all better soon. |
I have a puppy mill doggie and she is still paying for it.   You did not say whether you are testifying in court or not, but if you are may you find the words that are needed. |
we are taking him to small claims court.. and trust me i have all the necessary documents. i don't really care about the money, the owner of the pet store needs to know that he can't get away with this with everyone. i'll post about how it went afterwards. thanks for the support guys. |
to 4doggiemama what's wrong with your baby? how is she paying for it? |
Good Luck at Court! Praying for you to be heard!!! what a wonderful Mom you are for standing up for this little baby!!!And others from the same type of situation!! |
So sorry you have to go through this :( I'll keep you and Bell in my prayers, that your court day goes in your favor, hopefully this can lead to her puppy mill getting shut down! And that her BAT comes back good. |
You can get more info on where your puppy came from if you send in a report here http://www.petshoppuppies.org/ |
So sorry for all that is happening for you and your baby. I hope you have a great outcome in court and just know that the more people like you that fight puppymills and speakout the better. |
sympathy for the puppies okay, so i know that buying puppies from pet stores is bad because the puppies usually come from puppy mills... as a result, many people are trying to spread the word to prevent people from buying from pet stores... but what about the poor puppies that aren't getting good homes because of this? (i'm not including the puppies that do get purchased. they're the lucky ones.)... i feel sorry for the puppies because it's not their fault that they were bred in a puppy mill. so, because people don't want to promote buying pets from pet stores/puppy mills, the puppies are left in little tiny cages with their own feces and nobody to love them. :( don't get me wrong. i completely understand why we all agree that pet stores are not a good place to buy puppies from because of health problems, etc. that can result. but i can't help but feel that those puppies still need loving homes and someone willing to nurse them back to health if something did happen... i mean, do we really think that the owners of a pet store would care enough to help the puppy if it got sick? probably not since they were heartless enough to buy them from a puppy mill in the first place. well, maybe they might treat it long enough for it to get sold... how can we really stop these puppy mills from breeding hundreds of puppies? and meanwhile, we're fighting a war against the mills, and these puppies are wasting away in cages in the mall or something... this brings up a question: if all the puppy mills in the U.S. got shut down, what would happen to the thousands of dogs/puppies? would they go to shelters and pounds, and if they did, wouldn't they still have health issues and cause over crowding of the facilities? would the ASPCA take them? would they be put to sleep? i honestly don't know... i'm sorry this is so long... i just wanted to speak my mind. thanks! |
let me just add that this post isn't trying to promote buying from pet stores or trying to lecture those that do buy from pet stores... it's just a neutral post. bellbuzz07: i think the fact that you're treating your pup for a liver shunt is great. she has a loving owner that's not willing to give up on her, which makes her lucky, even though she's having health issues right now. once she's treated, she'll have a great life. :) |

thanks yorkierock. you know i don\'t know what would happen to all the breeding dogs and their puppies, but there are already rescues who rescue these dogs when a puppymill is shut down. i saw one yesterday puppymillrescue.com they have lots of dogs available for adoption who were rescued from puppymills. im sure there are more people who do this.. i think that if people stop buying these puppies, then the mills will have to stop producing them. you know the supply/demand factor... |
