Anyone know of this place? Does anyone know anything about the Teacups store in Florida? Anyone buy a dog there or know anyone that has? I know they don't advertise specific puppies on there site, and you have to go in person to get the pup (which is good), but I'd love to know more. 3puppies4me http://www.teacupspuppies.com/ |
Its a very nice site but I would question the fact that they are calling thier little yorkies teacups. They are a little too hyped up for my taste. |
Teacups The fact that they call any of the dogs they sell teacups should be a red flag. :thumbdown I have been to their shop on stirling road as well as the one in aventura mall. They are overpriced. You can buy the same things they have in their store for less, a lot less on the internet, but sometimes the convienence(sp) of just stopping there really quick to pick something up is easier. Only their shop on stirling has puppies. Both shops carry bows, clothing, accessories and carriers and other little misc. things. Everytime I have been there they have tiny, tiny puppies but the puppies don't always look good, like they don't have much hair or they don't look like what the standard for the breed calls for. They also don't specifically know where the puppies are coming from---this could mean puppy mills- I asked them one time about two dogs and the sales girl said oh I don't know if they are related or not maybe they could be I don't know where they came from. Plus they are snotty, like if they think they are better than you and from the prices I saw WAY overpriced $ I was there one day and a lady was holding a 12 ounce puppy yorkie yes I said 12 ounce and the lady asked how much and they said $2000.00. I know it sounds like I am coming down on them pretty hard but other than the fact that they are fancy they are just another pet store that doesn't know where their puppies are coming from and what condition those places are that they are coming from. I know I shouldn't go there and buy stuff if I think they are doing wrong but sometimes I need a bow or a shirt and I don't want to wait for the internet order and shipping time but I usually just go to their aventura store. My opinion is and it is just my opinion that you should always buy your dog from a breeder and not a pet store. Sorry if this sounds too harsh. But I'm going to give you a thumbs down advice :thumbdown on buying anything but accessories from there. Kara |
WOW very well said. I would think that it would be handy to go into the store to check out the quality of stuff that they have and then order it online. To me it looks like an over priced store. JMO |
Thank you, Kara, for your reply. I have been wondering about their puppies, if they come from quality breeders (even home breeders can be quality) or just another Divapups puppymill outfit. I know the 'teacups" terminology should be a red flag--and it is to a point, but anymore I just ignore it. It is in such common useage that it is just a description to the average person, so I tend not to get my back up about it, unless of course the breeder doesn't know what they are talking about. Many breeders have changed there approach if they know you have an inkling about the breed standard. 3puppies4me |
You are very welcome. I went there because I had heard about it on the news. I took Matise and we shopped their carriers and found the perfect one of course it was outragesly priced, I knew because I had been looking at them on the web but I couldn't decide which one I liked, so then I went home and ordered it on the net for a much better price. but sometimes I am very impulsive and I want it now so I go to the Aventura shop, because they are nicer then the stirling rd. shop, and buy bows or clothes. Yeah educating yourself on every aspect of the breed you are interested in buying is the best defense when shopping anywhere-breeder, store or whatever. thats my opinion. on a different note do you guys know that there is a Three Dog Bakery by the Broward mall I think it is on Universty dr. They have all these baked goodies for the kids and they are even allowed to come in with you. They make birthday "cake" bones. I am going to get one for Matise's 1st birthday next month. It is so cool. Kara |
1 Attachment(s) yes i actually do no the 2nd location they have listed and buy some of Rex's clothes from there. it is in my local mall. i know i know its called "teacups" but i love going in that store!! i also bought rex a valentine's day cookie |

i have yet to bring rex there. the mall has a new rule: all dogs in carriers are allowed in the mall. when i bought him a tanktop there was a sh!t-tzu in the store. she was sooo cute! she was the prissiest pooch i have ever seen. she was strolling around the store n lay down on the $700 leather pooch sofa |
I found their website a few months go and thought it was cute. I am not one to be offended by the word "teacup" anymore than the word "toy" but it did seem pricey. I do like the fact that don't sell the puppies who will be under 20 pounds as adults to a home with kids under the age of 15 and they don't ship. Those are at least two things that make me think they care about the puppies they sell. :) |
wow that is a very cute store!!! i've never even heard of it before. if they did sell puppies they claimed to be teacups i would stay away far far away lol. but, because they sell apperantly happy healthy dogs, then they seem pretty good to me!! |
This store gets its puppies from breeders? But maybe not all of them. That place is famous for always having 'tiny babies' I seriously doubt that they don't use puppy mills, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to keep that many puppies 'stocked' & of all different breeds. Make sure they can tell you where the puppy is from & research that. Maybe the chance that you will change your mind is why you have to go in person, so the puppy will pull at your heartstrings. Sounds fishy to me. |
Cute Store. Cute store..be fun to look around  ...but the prices ...wow! |
Teacups I have been there several times. The Yorkies I saw were $3500 to $6000. Owner handed me a Yorkie who was 5 months..it smelled so bad I handed it back and told her so. Next time the Yorks were cleaner and the place didn't smell like the first time. I saw a "teacup" Beagle..honestly! That is what the sign said...it was very small and had cross eyed. Everything is very expensive..she has sweaters for $75. Beds for $300. It is fun to look. |
