It's Ok, right? There isn't a back to it, because I'm waiting for the french barrettes to be delivered.

It's bigger than what I need so I will just re-measure it and redo it.

I remember you asking about this last night. Good for you! You did a great job. I think it's actually easier to make a bow than explain how to do it. I like what you've done and they look masculine. Most of the bows I buy have tiny ¼ inch latex bands on them, the kind you wrap the topknot in. You could always sew one of these on until barrettes come in. Good job! I've made a few for Joey because I found some ribbon that just matched his shirts. So many of his shirts are a variation of the khaki /olive green type and it hard to find a bow in that color. It was very satisfying making my own.

Thank You so much! I will sew the bands in. The only color ribbons I bought was white black and green. But then after words I realize most of her clothes and carriers were cream. So i will be heading up to get more tomorrow.

Oh, I thought Cody was a boy, well it's a unisex bow, and either a boy or girl could wear it. I was thinking it would cute with a little tuxedo, but since your yorkie is a girl, maybe a little black dress. If most of her clothes are cream, she can go with any color. I got my ribbon at Michaels. They have some packs of 5/8 inch that are so cute. They also sell some cute things for the center bead. I found some tiny silver butterfly beads that worked great.

Ok.. I made a how to video of how I did my bow... It's probably not the right way to do it but it comes pretty darn close.... I'll post it when it's on Youtube....

It's dark but you should be able to see what's going on... Also, I changed the format with a software, but the logo is in the middle of the video.. Just ignore it.

No problem... But the one's in the video are slightly larger... Lessen the ribbons by 1/2 in.

What a great demonstration, it seems so much easier to watch how it's done, than to read how it's done. I can't believe you could keep a straight face with your brother trying to make you laugh. You got the makings of a professional! :D

I'm definitely going to keep this thread in my favorites folder, so many people have asked this question.

Oh it looks like she took the video down, too bad. It really depends if you are making double or single loops, or just a simple puppy bow. This link has some good instructions for one type of bow. Hair Bow Instructions You can even practice on a stip of paper, looping it as many times as you want, and measuring the paper. As I recall a puppy bow was no more than 4 inches and a double bow was about 8. Ribbon that is 5/8 of an inch in width is a good size for an adult bow.
