Please take your baby in for x-ray. I've seen this in another little dog and they found out it was Legg Perthes Disease. http://www.ahtluvr.com/ahtleggperthes.html |

That's what I was going to say, it sounds like luxating patella |
i'm first guess would be luxating patellas, second guess is Legg Perthes Disease. I'd definitely take her to the vet to have her knees and hips examined. as cute as it is, it is causing her pain. the fact that she holds it up tells you that it either hurts or is very uncomfortable to use. |
Our little Abigaile ran the same way...turns out she had legg-perthes...we are 8 months out of surgery... |
thank you all for the info..i had NO idea...i called my vet and will be taking maggie in tomorrow...thanks again,im felling a little foolish |
Please don't feel foolish. We have all started somewhere with our knowledge of Yorkies. I am just thankful that I found YT. It helps me deal with the problems that occur because of the mistakes I made in the past when I acquired my furbabies. Just look at it that way: gaining knowledge to do the best you can for your baby. |
There's no reason at all for you to feel foolish! We all have to start somewhere and this forum is a great place to find out answers to questions that you didn't even know you had! I hope everything is fine w/your baby!:ghug: |
HI There and welcome to YT .. I have a Yorkie that has a Short back left leg. She does not have LP or LS or anything.. When she was Tiny tiny her mom laid on her and broke her leg in the growth plate. we did have her tested and x ray and the x ray showed a old fracture. My mom is her Breeder She never knew this happened Daisy or her mom did not show any indication that she was hurt. So keep your Chin up it might not be too bad... Daisy is 6 years old and Doing GREAT:) |
Good luck... Good for you you found great advise... Good luck and we are all crossing our fingers for you both... and if turns out to be one or another you found it in time to have surgery done and get her back to her feet , i mean , her four feet !!! Again, toughts and prayers..... |
