Good bye Phill and Lilly,,,,,,,,, I just finished talking to my neighbor,,, Our other neighbor lost 2 of her babies (pugs) yesterday. It's been ugly hot here and she has a little plastic pool in her back yard for them and a doggy door so they can come and go. Yesterday she came home and wasn't greeted at the door like any other day and her pugs where nowhere to be found in the house. So she then looked out side and she seen one in the pool which the water was hotter then it was outside. And the other one was laying next to the pool the one next to the pool was not dead at the time so she grabed the one in the pool and put it in a box and got the other one drove as fast as she could to the vet, but by the time she got there it was too late. He had died in the car. I was wondering why her kids didn't come over to swim. I feel so bad. She lost her other baby of 10 years 3 years ago when I car hit her right in front of my house. It was soooooo herrible to be the one to tell her. She was a beautiful Maltase mix named Daisy. She got the pugs about 2 months after (Phill and Lilly) I can't imagine what her and her family is going through. |
I'm so sorry. That's really tragic ... to lose 2 babies in one day. My heart goes out to her. |
:( My condolences to your neighbor...How heartbreaking :( XoXoXoXo Fran and Sammi |
tell her we are all thinking of her. that is so tragic. i hope she copes well. my thoughts and prayers are sent her way! |
That is so heartbreaking! That poor family. It is a shame that this tragedy had to happen, but lets all take this as a lesson of how sensitive dogs are to the elements, especially our little ones. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. |
 That is just the worse news to hear this morning. I am so terribly sorry for your neighbor. God bless that family. |
OMG! I can't believe it! That is so horrific to come home to that. And not only to loose one, but two on the same day.... I hope she finds a way to get through this. My thoughts are with her and her family. Let this just be a wanring to the rest of us to not let our babies stay outside unattended. It's just way too hot out there. I just wonder why they didn't got inside if there was a doggy door??? |
That is so very sad to here. |
That is very sad. I am so sorry! |

Were they left home alone?? Something doesnt make sense??? |
California is experiencing some unusual heat and humidity right now. Here in Texas, it's very hot and dangerous for anything or anybody to be outside. We have out bigger dogs outside, but they have the pool, a misting system installed on the covered deck and a large fan to keep them cooler. Maggie gets so antsy about sundown, because she knows it's time to go outside and play. Even when I take her out during the day to PP, she will start panting very heavily. We all need to remember that we have the A/C, so keep your babies cool too. Today was a tragedy to lose the two babies. Hopefully we won't lose anymore to the heat. |
Omg...that was too sad I had a hard time reading thru to the end - Please tell your neighbor how sorry I am to hear this - I can't imagine...we used to have a doggie door for our cockers ...I never thought about them NOT being ok going in and out back then...just goes to show us how easily things can happen that we never expect. What a tragedy. |
I am puzzled about it too. I don't know the full story. I haven't seen them all day. My neighbor said she talked to her after they came back from the vet but she couldn't really talk because she was crying so hard. I called to give my condolences but nobody answered. So I left a message. A few of us neighbors pitched in to get her a bouquet and a basket bundle of baked goodies made and put together by us 4 stay home mom's. I hope it makes her feel a little better. |
Omg!!! Just talked to Brinda,, (my neighbor). Poor thing is so heart broken. She made me cry. Well, her husband is epileptic and takes meds to prevent seizures. Well they must have gotten on the bathroom counter where she left them so that her husband would know she picked them up. They got into 2 bottles bit through the bottles and almost finished them both. Lilly,,,,,, the one found in the pool got sick, collapsed, and drown. Phill was not yet gone but with the amount he had ingested he probably wouldn't have survived. She feels so guilty and totally blames herself. I feel soooooo sorry for her. |
So sorry to hear about the two dogs. Poor family! |
Please give tell her my prayers are with her. People please don't leave your dogs along outside in the heat. I never leave mine alone, and as soon as their done doing their business where right back in the air conditioning. |
You're probably not going to like this but I have no tolerance for stupidity! You don't leave your dogs outside in this heat! Those poor things! Why are people so dumb? I had to tell someone the other day that leaving her lab in the car while she went shopping IS STUPID!It was 102 degrees and this idiot(who had a license plate that said Take Care of Your Pets) said "but I left the windows open" |
My neighbor didn't leave them outside. It's just were they ended up after eatting dads meds for his epileptic seizures. They had a doggy door and come and went as they needed while she was at work. But I do agree, there are some mindless people who leave thier pets and even kids in the car. There is no excuse for this,,,,,,,, and violaters as punishment, should be made to sit in the car and see how it feels. |
Oh. That's different. Sorry! But I still would not leave my pets with a doggy door unattended, they could get kidnapped or hurt by another animal or whatever! |
I guess accidents can happen anytime. And it did. But with her and her husband being away at work all day and the kids either at school or with the sitter, she thought the doggy door was a good thing. They have an inclosed bricked wall and metal gates which are always locked. And her pugs where big,,, both about 17 lbs. Not tiny like most of our babies. I guess she never worried about that end of it. |
Oh, that's so terrible. Babies are babies no matter how big they get. I am always watching that my babies don't get our meds. I found that they can chew into the plastic bottles and they even chewed open the lids that have that stuff that is supposed to keep moisture out. I gave them the empty bottles and when I found out what they could do with those little teeth, NO MORE! They seem to be infatuated with pill bottles, they'll get into the trash to get them. Just one more "child proofing" item to add to the list. |
That Heartbreaking Hope she's doing allright I know how much it hurts.LOL |
Omg...horrible Quote:
What a terrible double tragedy...shaking head...my heart goes out to your neighbor... Francie :( |
