HUNTE CORP Equals Puppy Mills     Pet Stores Lie. They lie about the ages of the puppies - they lie about the shots and medical care, they lie about genetic faults and they REALLY lie about where they get the puppies they sell. Pet stores will usually never give out their supplier because they know they are doing a BAD thing and buying from puppy mills. No good breeder would sell to a pet store. Period. I hope your mom is one of the lucky ones and has a healthy puppy...I hope she doesn't get her heart broken - that's really scary and for those who are still buying in Pet Stores - it's taking a huge chance for a bad fall. |
I go to see pet shop or kennels to see pups.. and want to get them because they are so cute. But I know that it is not the best thing to do. I have been doing research everyday about yorkies and different breeders. It seems easy to get a pup from a pet shop, it is better to take time and buy one from a breeder whom people can trust. I have contacted many breeders last few weeks...and so far, I have put myself on the waiting list with one breeder. Sometimes I wonder about pups that were raised in puppy mills, and I feel very bad for them. But then if you buy them, you are supporting puppy mills... So then no good. I know your family's intension was not that. Maybe you can think of it as you saved the pup. But as everyone said, it will be the best to have a pup get the full vet check-up. |
My cairn came from a local pet shop, of course this was long before I had the information available from this web-site. He was vet checked, and found no problems. Maybe I got lucky, but Max is a great dog who is very well socialized. We got him w/papers, the kennel name was on the papers (somewhere in Arkansas), and all seemed to check out fine. I'm glad I found Max, even if he came from a pet shop. |
before getting attached get the pup to a vet asap and make sure everything is suond cause from what i hear it can be very costly to have a yorkie with problems. never buy from a pet store they lie you are just some one that walks in and has money and walks out with out knowing and thats who scam artists get ya. i know it was your mother. but tell her to join yorkie talk before she buys a pup. oh and i just learned from my own expierence you get a pedigree after you buy the dog you have to purchase it with your own money then come to find out your dog is inbred! just had this happen myself but you wont know until a pedigree is ordered and then its too late |

What the heck is a "fancy breeder"!?! I believe pet shops are obligated to give you the name of the kennel or breeder if you inquire. I did that some time ago on a pup, and was told Lambriar Kennels. I did a search on the internet, and the complaints against them were unbelievable. |
The owner of a Petshop is not obligated to give the names of the places they have their puppies . |
