My Gidget was 1.5lb when I got her. Shes 5 months today and Ive got her up to 1.13 1/5 lb. (were almost at 2lb!!!) I give her nutra cal twice a day and offer her food all day long. Im determined to get her to 3lb. grown. I agree though, you do worry more. Shes the only one not allowed to sleep in bed with us, because Im terrified she would fall and get hurt. Good luck.

I have a very small boy here to, Iam tryng to get him to 3pds..Its so hard, He eats but just does not gain, I took him in and the vet told me he was just going to be small, But i can feel his little ribs and it really bothers me, He loves treats so the vet said to give him what he can tolerate?? And another thing when he drinks he will spit it up because he over filled his belly:( I would deff think twice before ever getting a baby that small, Good luck to you:) Welcome to yt;)

ive had to buy pet stairs for my puppy so she can be able to do things other dogs can do (and also to prevent her from jumping) like get on a chair with me when she wants, or couch or sleep in bed with me. let me tell you, they are very expensive if you want a 6-8 step one. I have a high bed and even my moms 9 pounder cant jump up on it. i have two 4 step stairs in the living room (i got them for cheap at target--probably wont last long) and im going to order a big quality one real soon for the bedroom (ive looked on the internet and in stores and the only ones with small enough steps and is high enough to reach the bed is well over $100 not including shipping. I didnt even think of these things when i got my puppy.. i was so determind lol I just thought, "OH shes so precious!".. so im just telling you so you know now when you are making your decision... so you get the full picture. someone said on here one time that if you get a tiny you should be sure to be financially stable and be able to pay those vet bills because god knows what can go wrong! broken leg, roach back, liver shunt, god knows! (ok, ive obviously spent to much time here on YT reading scary threads LOL :p )

that said, i agree that you should post a link to the breeder if there is one. i think some people can give you feedback on the situation if they saw it. my puppy was the only one in her litter, so she was definetly not a runt/not small because she didnt get enough to eat or whatever. i think that all the personal attention she got from her mom and dad and all that extra milk is what has kept her so healthy. I think that if it is a good breeder and this dog wasnt bred to be a super tiny little thing to rake in the cash, then it should be fine if you want to get him/her.

I have to say though, when they are that small, they are awfully cute :rolleyes: it is hard to say no once they are in your arms ;) good luck with your decision!

I'm surprised that a dog that small would only be $2,500. I've seen little ones for $5,000 and $10,000 BUT if that is really a picture of what it looks like now I would never buy that dog. It looks like something is wrong with it or that it is only a few days old.

are you talking about the picture i posted? lol that is not the dog shes looking at.. i just posted it because that was what i was picturing a full grown 1.8 pounder to look like as a puppy.. and yea that dog does look like it has something wrong with it!

I heard about that often but I also heard that small yorks around 1kg lived until the age 15 or even 16 years old.
At present, I am having Gigo 1k150 at 2 years old and Lela 1k159 at 4 months old, they are both very well. Surely, I care for Gigo very much since his bones are born small in his body structure.
All I have to do is to be careful with them, nothing to be worried so far, I agree with no difference of the dog's size, they are our love, as far as their health are good.
