I am being FORCED to get another yorkie!! I love looking at all the pictures of the yorkie puppies; but have always thought that just Sawyer was all I needed. Well, I am afraid that I am not all he needs. My son had back surgery in South Florida three weeks ago, and I have been staying at his home to help him while my daughter in law works. They have a chihaua (?). Sawyer and Sadie, the chi, are the best buddies. sawyer runs like a freight train with her. They play for hours, and then just drop into my lap for a nap, and then it is off to the races again. I came home Sunday, and Sawyer is a mess. He wants to sleep all day, and then get me up every hour all night to go out to pee, and run around the house looking for sadie. My husband has been against it, and I really didn't care too much ( well maybe a little;) ) But I am now going to find a buddy for sawyer. So if anyone is in the Florida area with a little scamp to sell, let me know. Sawyer weighs 4 and a half pounds, so I would like to find one in that range. I guess I am lucky he didn't fall in love with a great dane:D |

Aw poor Sawyer, it's so hard when the get on so well with another dog, and then they can't be together anymore. When I took Joey back to his breeders once, he meant an older brother who was visiting; they were instantly "best friends" and it was so cute watching them play together. I read others threads where someone got a companion for their dog and the two hated each other, so I guess it takes a bit of luck to see if they will click. Temperament and age seem important qualities on whether they will "click." Maybe, if you could just find a Yorkie named "Kate." Good luck in your search! |

You will be so happy you did!! I use to only have 1 dog at a time then 2 1/2 years ago I got a second. Now i have 4. It is so interesting to watch them play and interact. They have their own little society. Good luck in your search. |
There's something about those Chihuahua's that make other pets happy. I was baby sitting a chi when a friend of mine was living with an abusive man that used to hit the little guy (his name is Wee Wee Sherman). Anyway, I took the dog out of their house and told her that if she didn't get him out she wasn't getting the dog back. So she left him and went into a treatment center for 4 months. Well, I kept Wee Wee for 4 months and although my little Bentley wasn't interested in playing with him my CAT fell in LOVE. They became best friends and had to be with each other 24-7. They would roll around in the floor like two lovers:yelrotflm it was most interesting to see let me tell you. When she got out of treatment and I knew that the scum she was with was most definately out of the picture, I gave Wee Wee back. I cannot explain in human words how that cat grieved over the loss of Wee Wee. If Bentley was gone, the cat would no doubt have a party, but when Wee Wee left she paced the floors, she went from room to room meowing out his name (I'm assuming). It was just so sad. Eventually Mini got over Wee Wee. She realized that theirs was a love that was never mean't to be. :D |
