My husband is really pushing me to get another furbaby It has only been two weeks since we Sherlock died. I still cry ever time I think of him. I have told him that I am not ready for another furbaby. Now I have got to the point to make excuses about getting a new furbaby. I have gone as far as telling him that I need to find another little dog that works well with men. I am just not to sure what to do to make him understand that I need more time. Also when I am finally ready what type of small dogs should I look for to keep a peacefully balance in our home. |
You may be surprised at how much a new little baby can help heal your heart. My cousin just went through that a few weeks ago. |
keep your heart open, as hard as it is, so many babies need love! Obviously you have lots of love to give. As far as what kind of dog, only you can decide what is right for you! |
Is it possible that your dh is pushing so hard because he needs another to help with his grief? I really understand that you need more time, as I went through similar when I lost my Rebel Cat. She was 18 years old and passed away right after Christmas 2006. I still have not been able to adopt a new cat and the thought of doing so is no easier today than it was a year ago. Everyone's grieving process is unique unto them, but when there are others who are grieving together the process becomes more complex. I hope you and your husband find the balance needed to help you both through your pain. God bless......:heart to |
We just lost our second 13 year cat in January and I was glad to have had Hot Rod here to help with that lost. I understand when you say you are not ready because I don't know what would have happened if we hadn't had him here already. I still tear up when I see Moushy's pictures and think about how we would spend the day together. I will always have those memories. Just remember, you are not replacing your baby, nothing ever will but being able to share all that love is a good thing. You will know when it is right for you. And that new furbaby will benefit from all the love and attention you have for him/her. :big_hug: |
