Bad Weather?
 
Is there anyone else in South Texas here that is starting to see the effects of Hurricane Emily? The skies around here look a little strange, but not too bad yet. I hear an awful lot of wind. Hopefully all that we will get is rain!

I'm in Dallas.
I'm sure we will feel the effects of it, too. It might not be as bad as when it reaches the coast. But, we do need rain. It's VERY hot right now!

here just out side of brownsville we are starting to get some of the effects now. so far so good. the eye (thank goodness) decided to turn west so it is going to miss us. just short squaws so far.

I am an hour North of Corpus Christi- It is hitting in Mexico actually but looks like strong outer bands are going to his the Brownsville and South Padre area. However we are on the "wet" side of it and have been warned that there are Tornado watches until 1:00 am!!! I think we'll be fine- it is the people a little further South that will get more of the storm.

I'm in the Dallas area too, and we need any rain we can get. Maybe it will cool things down. Just got my latest electric bill and at this rate, I will be in the poor house before the summer is over.

ldenise- how are things there? we have already had power outages once and now the rain is unbelievable!!! It is coming down in an angle due to the wind!!!

Sorry guys- I should have posted this in the off topic thread!!! I rarely go there so I sometimes forget about it. OOOPS. Well, my babies are hearing the rain so does it count as General Yorkie Discussion? :p

Not bad weather as in hurricane weather here, but it's been pretty bad here lately. Right now it's 108 degrees outside :eek: Way too hot for me :thumbdown

I'm in Kingsville and we're getting a little rain and some wind gusts. It's not bad yet, but I'm fixing to move to my Dad's house because Sabrina and I are in a mobile home. The wind really bothers me - the thunder/rain drives Sabrina nuts. I'll probably go over there in the next couple of hours and stay until it's mostly over.

I hate leaving my mobile home. 30 years of stuff here. Oh, well. If I have her I'll be okay.

Beth, we've had the fluffy white clouds here in Victoria and they are moving fast. Only had one bought of rain today and it didn't last long. Suppose to get lots of rain tomorrow.

Just cloudy and overcast all day today here in Pearland. Just a little "spit" as far as rain.

well guys so far it has been like a normal rain here. some gust and some down pours but nothing out of the ordianary yet. i hope it stays away. they say we should see some wilder effects later tonight. i got my cubby hole ready for wild wind, tornado activity, power outages and things of that sort. i am ready to get it over with and move on to another day of hard work.as long as we don't lose power and cable i will still have computer. got my laptop charged and waiting down stairs where i will move when and if it starts getting rough.
