helpful tip on belly bands I have bought so many different belly bands in attempt to stop my studs...they are little to no help because they slip off or move around...so then I tried an ace bandage with a kotex inside, didnt like that alot got too wet. So I found these wrist bands that fit perfectly...they are made of breathable absorbing material on the inside and lets air in. they work perfect, they DONT slip, for extra help I take the backing off a kotex to absorb more...I am telling you they work, they are small (even for the smallest of little guys) and are velcro! without the extra material hanging. The ones I bought are nexcare with breathoprene, I cant find them on the web... :( I found them here local |
Thanks for the tip. |
I am considering buying some for Fred. Does it help potty train him? Perhaps, not potty train, but help him learn how to hold his pee until he gets outside? If I buy them, I plan on putting it on during the day while he's out playing. Then, taking it off when he's outside playing or when he's laying in his crate sleeping. What is your recommendation for when and when not to leave it on/take it off? He has been marking inside the house every now and then. He was 99% potty trained but it backfired and he's been peeing in the house constantly. My boyfriend's mom is getting aggravatd when Fred is over there because they have wood flooring and she's scared it might stain. |
Hey thats a great idea . I used lil socks also when Cooper was smaller. :D |
Silly question....what are belly bands? |
a band you wrap around your "little mans" belly so he cant spray or pee in your house |
DUHHHHH!...Thanks for the education LOL |
. can they be used for the females to stop them from going in the house? |
We went to Petsmart and got a belly band for Tucker (See the thread No Gwamma NO) Anyway, it looks like blue jean material and has velcro. He rubs his tummy on the floor trying to get it off and it doesn't move. They had diapers for girls in the same material. Anyway, it has not stopped him from peeing in the house, it just stops it from going anywhere. Megan called me at work yesterday and said The belly band just saved Tuckers life. I asked how that happened and she said she caught him lifting his leg against some papers in a pile in my room, and if he had peed on them I would have killed him! So, its no help in potty training but it keeps my house clean while he is learning. |
Wow never thought about using a wrist band. I should look into that |
Teri88, give Tucker a chance. I thought that about Indiana too, it took a while for him to decide that he didn't like the wet feeling. He ignored it too for awhile, then it got better. |
When do you use the those belly bands? Zack still squats and pees in the house but when he goes in the yard, he lifts his leg alittle bit (because of the grass?) He's 5 months now and 5.4 lbs. |
Use belly bands any time that you have to be concerned with his peeing. When you take him outside, take the belly band off, clean him up with baby wipes, powder him and let him dry for a while. Just like a baby!!! Then put the band with a clean sanitary pad back on him..It is so ideal when you take him some place.. |
Please tell more... Quote:
Where do you get them at a drug store or surgical supply store? |
I got it at walgreens here, I cant find the same ones online, which surprised me! |
