I Need To Get Some Steam Out!!!!
 

ok so i have a "friend" that just purchased a 8week old beagle about 2 weeks ago.. so she is about 10weeks now. SHE IS THE MOST ADORABLE beagle i have ever seen! She has only had 1 set of shots AND already she has taken her out for walks at the park and different areas around her neighborhood. Supposedly, one of her friends works with ceaser millan from the dog whisperer and her "friend" says its ok to take her out on walks as long as the puppy is on concrete! Come on now, she is ONLY 10 weeks old and only had 1 set of shots!!!! i told her that i dont believe her friend and that she better double check with a vet if its ok to take her out of walks. i also started talking to her about parvo, and she said that her "friend" said that it was ok to take her out for walks as long as its on concrete and that she is taking sentinal (hearworm tablets) so she wont get anything, even parvo! i still told her she was wrong.... So.. i ask her.. so what if your dog gets sick? and she says, i just want to keep her happy, so its not a big deal. I WAS LIKE WTF!!! *excuse my french* NOT A BIG DEAL IF HER DOG GETS SICK!!!

i dont even know why she has this dog. she wanted to get a yorkie and told her that dogs are not easy to take care of.. and she lied to me and said "oh i owned malteses and poms all my life" which was lie, actually her auntie own them. AND she said that she wanted a tiny tcup yorkie that could fit in her hand (which she can afford by the way) and i told her that sometimes they are very sick, and she said "well i want to be able to carry her in my pocket".. OH MY GOSH!!! she is killing me here! oh and last but not least... i told her that dogs are very hard when they are puppies.. and so far like maybe 4 times she has talked about posting her new beagle on craigslist because she is stubborn and wont listen....

*SIGH* i feel much better. :cool:

:( All you can do is try to inform her of the dangers that are out there; but, it sounds to me like she thinks she already knows everything. Can't believe she's already talking about posting her puppy on Craig's List. But, you know what, the puppy might just get a good forever home with someone who would take good care of her.

Vent anytime you want 'cause your friend is probably going to drive you crazy with her new puppy.:mad:

yea she drives me nuts sometimes. she is a weirdo. she always wants to be right. :cool:

So she wants to keep her dog happy, but doesn't care if her dog gets sick? I don't know about most, but when your sick your probably not that happy! :mad:

Maybe it is better if she finds a new home for this puppy. I hate to see dogs getting rehomed, but sometimes it is for the best, and it sounds like this girl only wants a small dog to show off, like the dog is some accessory. This poor puppy needs a loving mommy and/or daddy to take care of him.

Also wanted to add, I've had friends too who wanted and purchased dogs w/o knowing a whole lot. Some have become really good mommies to their dogs, others, well they can be better. I know it sucks when you try so hard to educate someone, and they refuse to listen. Like Patty said, just vent here to us! Were here for you and totally understand.
