Help!! how to remove eyelash glue? well,, in trying to get Trixies ears to stand erect,, we followed some breeders advise,, using Moleskin (it breathes), and placing inside her ears,, using a bit of human clear eyelash glue,, WELL,, DH decided if a bit of the glue was good a LOT of it would be better!!!! so,, now he wants to take them out and they are NOT coming loose,, after a couple of bathes,, and several lenghthy sessions of using detangler to try to get it to loosen,, any ideas out there?? HELP!!!!:thankyou2 |
Baby oil? Or probably, good old vegetable oil. How are the ears doing? |
I have never heard of using eyelash glue to get our babies ears to stand up.. The only advice I can give is go see a groomer or vet and see if they can remove it.. |

So you dont have to cut long haired dogs OIL :) Try that |
3 Attachment(s) it was breeders here on YT who suggested the eyelash glue and moleskin,,,but i am pretty sure DH OD'ed on the glue,, the ears are great!! were standing wonderfully,, until DH began trying to remove the moleskin,, now, to see if i have any baby oil,, Thanks!!:aimeeyork Trixie in her Daisy Mae,,Attachment 201997 and a close up Attachment 201995 and a good ole DemonDog shot,, lolAttachment 201996 |
I would just "paint" the baby oil or vegetable oil on over the moleskin. Let it set a few minutes before you try to remove. Cute Pics, kind of looks like they're getting ready for Halloween! :D :D :D |
I would never use MOLEskin or glue on my babies ears. Masking tape works just fine. i can't imagine a breeder telling you that. As far as getting it off, I have no idea. Sorry. |
I have used moleskin when I first started in Yorkies. This was recommended by a few breeders so I tried it. It worked fine, but I liked masking tape better. I have never used eyelash glue though. I have used canvas glue to stand Skye Terrier ears up. It would not come out period! Over time it finally just worked its way off the hair with baths and brushing. I wonder if finger nail polish remover works? Or maybe Energine solvent remover? what is used to take it off humans? Maybe that will work. good luck!!! |

wow.. looks like you've gotten yourself into a bit of a pickle there. All I can suggest is a trip to the nearest drug store and get whatever it is that they use to remove false eyelashes. Eileen |
I've never used eyelash glue, even on me, but I would assume babyoil, like Nancy1999 already suggested. |

Thanks for all the replies,, and yes,, i'll pick up some baby oil this morning when i go to town to workout, we'll get em off.. slowly but surely,, Thanks!:aimeeyork |
OKIE DOKIE,, I got it all off,, 1 Attachment(s) Trixie is back to normal now, i got baby oil,, (had to buy a big bottle,, couldnt find a small one),, so now we're set with baby oil ,, forever!! LOL,, but ,, it got the job done,, came home,, soaked the moleskin down with the baby oil,, got one ear done in just a minute,, the other i had to soak with more baby oil and let set a while,, and slowly rubbed the oil and ear for about 20 minutes easing it all off,, so, ,its a done deal!,, now we'll hafta do a bath here in just a bit,, to get all the oil off of her,, but she surely smells good!! and BTW,, her ear leather looks fine,, not red,, no damage done,, but live and learn,, for me and mine, ,NO moleskin and eyelash glue is NOT a good idea, even though it was advise i received here on YT from breeders,, maybe they just used WAY WAY less glue,, but , its all good,, thanks to all for ideas and well wishes,, we're all good here now!:) Attachment 202265 |
