Any idea why my Yorkie runs in the yard and picks up paper, rocks, twigs and tries to eat them. I am sure he ate a piece of paper this morning. |
When you figure it out let me know, because Matty Lu is the same way!! |
He's a puppy and that's what they do.:p All the time! They like to keep us on our toes. |
I'd be worried if I had a yorkie who DIDN'T get into mischief. |
I started a thread like this last year when we got Kiki. There wasn't anything she wouldn't eat. Actually, she will still eat anything on the floor and I continue to vaccum every day. Anna www.dogster.com/dogs/511397 |
We have a new home and have not landscaped the back yard yet... they dig up rocks, pieces of cement and then lay them on the patio like prizes! |
Chachi used to do that when he was a pup also. He outgrew it though |
Because it's so fun!!:D Tink did this as well, she definately outgrew it but does occasionally eat yucky things outside just to totally gross me out! |
I was out on the back deck after loosing my mother having cocktails and crying my eyes out. My daughter and best friend (gay male), were out there trying to comfort me and Mika was foraging as usual. Suddenly my daughter noticed that Mika had something, and that something was a dead bird. Now Mika can turn on a dime and speed up or stop on a dime when avoiding capture, and no one was was going to take her dead bird. As heart sick as I was, the sight of Mika making a complete fool out of my daughter, and my little gay friend (who runs like a GIRL with hands daintiliy out to the side), cracked me up, and the next thing I knew I was actually laughing through my tears. God sent me that yorkie I swear. |
lol...because they are sooo curious about everything! kind of like when skin babies go through the phase where they put everything in their mouths :D too cute |
Because they can:D .........atleast that is what my vet tells me. Autumn (at 1 1/2yr old) still chases and chews on everything in the yard. She LOVES mulch! It drives me crazy, the vet tells me to look on the bright side, its better then eating rocks! |
Bitsy is 8 months now and is doing it less and less. I don't know if it's because she's getting older or if it's because everything outside is covered in snow! |
My babies do the same thing. They love leaves, twigs grass you name it. They are funny though sometimes they will grab a leaf in there mouth and look at me because they know I am coming after them. :) |
There are sticks all over my house! |

I always say to my hubby that Pixie was heaven sent.. |
My two were out in the yard just this morning trying their very best to dig through the snow to find a treasure. The other day they found a stick and proudly dragged it into the house. I don't think they will ever stop looking for twigs or whatever they can find. |
Both mine LOVE to do that. They will find a nice twig, branch, pine cone or pecan shell and have a feast! I try to grab the pecan shells because they can be sharp when they bite them...we don't even HAVE pecan trees in the yard...the squirrels bring them. Betty finds one and tries to run away from me...chewing the whole time! |
Mine are 3 yrs and still do it from time to time. Coffee will drop it when I tell him to, but CoCo runs like the wind. Sheilagh |
HAH! Join the club  Tatum will eat anything and everything she comes in contact with. EVERYTHING goes in her mouth  I swear she is like a 2 year old on steroids, LOL. I have to watch her VERY closely cause there is no telling what will end up in her mouth next! My Stedman has never ever been that way. He'll sniff something, and walk off. Two totally different dogs, lol :p |
I'm sure it is just puppy behavior but if an adult ever did it out of nowhere, it would be called pica which can be a symptom of disease (when they actually try to eat those things). That being said, Ellie used to steal markers and go under the bed with them. |
any idea why 1 Attachment(s) Quote:
Got up this morning, made her breakfast, (she watches because she loves food) she ate and disappeared. She was in the bed staring at the door where that bear was.:tongue5: |
My two LOVE WOOD... When we have a fire in the fire palce I have to put them in the cage while we bring the logs in, then I have to sweep up before they can come out... they go crazy looking for any small piece of bark that may have been left behind. THEN... Sadie has to be watched like a hawk because she LOVES The taste of COAl... you know... the burnt wood coal from the fire place. She will walk in to the fire place WHILE THERE ARE STILL HOT COALS to get anything she can!!!! I have to put a baby gate behind the fire screen cause she can fit under the screen... SHe has done this since she was 12 weeks old!!!! Can you believe it? |
That is so funny, keeps you on your toes. |
Well Nico pooped a twig this morning!!! |
